.. that being said, let me say that I have played all of the silent hills and the best being the first. Groundbreaking indeed due to the nature of survival horror games at the time like resident evil which, not a bad series by any stretch, but its a different type of survival that puts lots of enemies and more on the guns and ammo type.
Well im telling you, in my opinion, this game is terrific and vintage silent hill. Im about 3/4 the way done with it and plan to give a reader review shortly thereafter. Im writing this to inform those who would like another take on it rather than some jackass on IGN reviewing it and saying it blows. I will note that he gave it a 6.7 and readers gave it a 8.7. Without this being about how some people blog on games that while they might not have played an entire series and give reviews saying that the game misses the mark is like asking an auto mechanic to give his opinions on various souffle dishes, ill just tell you this...
Its worth it.
But thats is up for you to decide so go read/watch the review, but as a person who knows what made the original so good, this game does live up to the challenge. At least rent it. Ill be back with a full review soon.
I'm a die hard SH fan myself and honestly, I'm glad I really don't care too much for reviews. I think the game is awesome and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
I'm loving this game. And to all the whiners who complained about the upgraded combat, when you fight the enemies in this game you will thank God the combat was upgraded. I've gotten my ass handed to me a few times. Once even by a nurse, which has never happened before in the other games. This game still has the amazing atmosphere and intensity that made the other silent hills great games.
I don't care what anyone says about S.H.
look at origins people said it was going to blow
they where right
but in the reverse it blew peoples mind out of the water

I'm still not sure if I can fork over the $60 for it.
I'll definately keep my eye on it though.

I love this game... your title, on the other hand, not so much.

but 64.35 too rich for my blood right now
I love horror games a lot, but I never got into Silent Hill. I played 2, 3, and 4, and found all of them boring.
I'm really glad you like this one, though. I may have to give it a try, though.
