Damn you Borderlands minimum system requirements...
Fleet3000 | 5:36 PM on 10.03.2009 13 comments

So, finally, after owning my XPS M1530 Laptop for about, oh, around 6-9 months now, it is now out of date, thanks to the system requirements of Borderlands wanting a GeForce 9 series to run it.

Thank you oh so much Borderlands for making me feel like I can't buy a PC anymore and feel up to date week in and week out.

But don't worry. I've learned my lesson from you. The next laptop I buy? Will be a bloody MacBook Pro with BootCamp. WHERE IS YOUR SPAGHETTI MONSTER GOD NOW????

I'm just getting it on the 360. It's not exactly the kind of game where people are going to want to play others if they have mods anyway.

Man, I hate it when that happens. I remember on my old computer when I could barely run The Witcher on medium settings. That's the day I knew I had to eventually put the old girl down, and get a better computadora.

I doubt you HAVE to have a 9 series, doesn't mean shit anyways because a 9600 is complete balls compared to an 8800. The 9 in front of it really doesn't mean anything, its all about the last 3 numbers. 600+ is what you want, and I plan on playing borderlands with my 8800GTS on high settings without an issue.

As a computer technology professional I hate it, absolutely hate having to tell people that technology improves at such a fast pace that something you've spent hundreds or thousands of dollar on a year or two ago may not be up to par today. Laptops are always worse for a variety of reasons, but man do I sympathize. I have a bunch of friends who have given up on PC games this generation, since they can just stick with a 360 instead.

I bet your lappy can run it it just fine though, as long as you're willing to make a few sacrifices in different graphic settings.

Would it have been so bad to actually post the requirements?

the only thing i need upgraded is my videocard, which is good considering how it's already failing often.

So what are the system requirements? :(
Wedge's Destructoid Blog
Protip. Stop trying to play games on a laptop. Also that computer is 2 years old, even if you bought it 6 months ago. Also it's a laptop.

And you're about at the system minimum requirements anyways... but it is a crummy old laptop.

If you can't keep up with the system requirements you'd better get a console. Or sell some organs.

What Wedge said.
There's no point in a "gaming laptop" at all. A PC for half the cost will run twice as fast and last substantially longer.

WAT?

The requirements are Geforce 8 series.
Fleet3000's Destructoid Blog
@Cyber

OS: Windows XP/Vista
Processor: 2.4 Ghz or equivalent processor
Memory: 1GB System RAM (2GB recommended with Vista)
Graphics: 256mb video ram or better (GeForce 8 series or higher/Radeon R8xx series)
Hard Drive: 8 GB or more free space
Sound: Windows compatible sound card

O RLY?? it seems Valve just changed the requirements from when i posted this. Maybe i will buy it for PC...
