Racism On PS3 online pisses me off

I know I know its something people do all the time and its nothing big. Im half black and hearing the word "nigger" online when Im playing C.O.D.4 is not cool. I was playing today and it started off with these black guys being loud I mean yelling in the mic loud. Then out of no where a white guy Im presuming says "shut up you faggot niggers" I almost lost it I didnt say anything I muted him. But I can still here the Black guys talking to the white guy and not one time did they say cracker or peckerwood or any derogatory term on anyone. It makes me mad if Little kids now and days think its cool to say that. Personally i cuss alot when i play but I dont go racist on anyone. But what am I to do Im not gonna stop anyone from saying that word all Im saying is QUIT SAYING THE N WORD THINKING YOUR COOL also black people quit trying to be gangsta online...... we all know your not just stop.........jesus my heart is beating fast.....Oh just for you guys that have read my previous blogs My son is working on Crash bandicot right now so hes doing real well.

Unfortunately racist remarks go hand in hand with online play. All you can do is either mute people or play with friends. Playing with friends is the way to roll.

I understand why it pisses you off, but I think that letting it bother you is a waste of your time. There are all sorts of things that piss me off in the world, but I just ignore them rather than let them eat away at me to the point of insanity. Yojimbo was right to say that it goes hand in hand with online play. It's just the way of online gaming sadly.

I was about to write some long ass thing about that word and blah blah blah, but seriously, you complaining about it isn't gonna do shit. you know how you can stop the racism, ignore it. It sucks, for sure. Xbox Live is a damn sight worse though, be thankful you're playing in the wastelands of PSN.
I kind of second a few points made here though mate - if you don't let it offend you, they can't win :)

I came for the Xbox Live comparisons. I'm not disappointed. I've become so callous to this phenomenon that it no longer bothersome whatsoever. This situation is nightly for me, if not in nine out of ten games every night.

I just recently got into the ps3 and PSN and I have to say: I've had a much nicer time on PSN. Either because there are fewer people with mics, thus the opportunity to be a fucktard is not present or; There are generally a higher ratio of nice people to douchenozzles.

You seem to be the thoughtful type. I find that posturing yourself (logically) above them by demonstrating superior intelligence is much more satisfying. Nothing like putting an ignorant fool in his place, which is swinging from his sister's limb on the family tree.

You know I've never had that problem on Warhawk. While I don't have a mic (waiting for the Sony-branded one) I've only heard one person use excessive swearing. Most of the time people sound very down-to-earth.

Honestly, I heard it more often on Xbox Live than while online with the PS3. Most of the time, I have to mute somebody who's playing horrible music in the background.

and heck I curse like a muther truckin sailor maybe 85% of the time even on line I don't know why but I'm trying to cut back on it
but yeah it gets to you at time thats why you have the mute option use it
