About
I'm T. J.! I'm a college student, 21, going to UT Tyler for a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and at Tyler Junior College I am going for a Associate's Degree in Game Design and Simulation. Guess which college is more fun? XD

My favorite games are old games. I love Arcade games, NES games, and SNES games. I feel many old games are better than many new games. I find it impressive how old games from even the likes such as the Atari 2600 can be just as fun as games coming out today-- technology does not have a lot to do with gameplay, does it now?

The games I am playing alot of currently are:
- Dead Space
- Psychonauts
- Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta
- Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse

I program quite a bit in my spare time, and in class. I'm working on programming games in Allegro C++, and hope to someday either start a company that creates games or work somewhere designing games. I'd love to work for Valve. I'm more interested in the game design aspect of creating games, but I am learning how to program in order to get my foot in the door of the industry someday.

My favorite gaming companies are:
- Nintendo
- Konami
- Capcom
- Valve

My all-time favorite games (in no particular order...)
- Super Mario World
- Super Mario 64
- The Legend of Zelda 3: A Link to the Past
- Kirby Superstar
- Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers
- Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (my first Metroidvania game :D)
- Castlevania 3
- Super Metroid
- Chrono Trigger
- Final Fantasy VI
- Megaman X5
- Resident Evil REmake
- Resident Evil 4
- Metal Slug 4
- U. N. Squadron
...and many, many more...

I'm currently building an arcade MAME machine! It's almost done :D I'll keep this blog updated when I finish it.

Oy! I just released one of the games I've made onto the internets. Go to this website and download it, play it, get owned by it, and then tell me what you think! It's like Megaman, but the enemies are Megaman! Oh, the irony.

"Dinosaur Island II" is the one you should try. It's got three levels. Let me know if you end up beating it-- it can be done in about 10 minutes. So try it out!!

No thanks, I'd rather not.
LOL, I officially suck at this game. I can't get past the four hanging ladders. :( Platformer, I am not.
@ Tray Ben: Well then don't waste my time commenting on my blog. Kthxbai.

@ Kadaj: Heheh, ladders are what has given people the most problems XD I definitely should have made it an option to auto grab onto ladders, the whole 'hold up' thing while holding jump to jump across them seems a bit too punishing...
I'll try this out later.

By the by, reading your "About" segment, you're building a MAME cab, huh.

so

fuckin'

jealous

I've been wanting to build one since last summer, but I couldn't get a job thanks to my damn state. I'm building PCs for a few guys over the summer and have all rights to keep the spoils, so I think I'm gonna put whatever I keep towards that or a new video card.

I wanna see it when it's done.
@ Caspulex:
Yeah, I'm building one, and it's almost done :D:D it's pretty much done, I just need plexiglass to cover the screen, plexiglass for the marquee, a marquee, and then lots and lots of paint XD it's a large wooden cabinet right now :P
aw man

Pictures when it's done. I was thinking of either painting mine straight up black or getting some side art done. I suck at photoshop, though, so painting might be easier.

What control setup you using? I want to go for 2 4-8 way switchable joysticks (Maybe the one from Ultimarc that switches from the top...), six buttons per player, two coin buttons, two one/two player start buttons, the control board will ideally allow for a draw-out keyboard, two Guncon-2's with hang-on cupholders for gun holsters, a disc drive slot for dreamcast/GD-rom games, USB holes for two extra controllers for up to four players, some sizeable CRT TV (For easy use of the guncons...maybe 26 inch...), and two coin slots/mechs.

*sigh* Someday...
