I thought that for my blog post tonight I'd let you guys in on my life a little bit. I just got the best news of my life so far...my Fiance of 4.5 years told me yesterday that she is ready to get married! We've been together for almost 7 years and is my inspiration for getting up everyday.
I feel like the luckiest man alive because she understands the passion that I have for gaming. Sure, she gave me crap for buying the Legendary Halo 3 cause it cost so much, but she's went out the very next day to 3 different Gamestop stores near where we live to find me a second Elite controller, all without me asking. I know things are going to be great for us and for the kids we plan to have in the future.
Unlike any other person I was ever with, she doesn't want me to be anything more than me when we're together. She's not much of a gamer and I've always been the hardcore gamer trying to turn her to the "Dark Side" by getting her to play Animal Crossing and Brain Age on my DS, and Viva Pinata, Hexic, and Zuma. Soon enough maybe she'll want to get online with me one day and play some Halo or something. Seeing how we're getting married, I have the rest of our lives huh? I love the fact that she calls any time I spend playing games, playing "Nintendo", after 6 years, you just roll with it and invite her to play too.
I just wanted to share with you all here on Destructoid how great this has made my week. First Halo 3 drops then I find out that I have a date to get married! Seriously, I'm a really happy guy. We're going to head down to Vegas in December for a week of fun and excitment and tie the knot while we're there.
That brings me to my question to all of you married types. Does your wife approve of the video gaming? Do you have to fight for your right to spend time on the console? Have you ever had a significant other who wanted you to bail on your hobby and get rid of it all?
(sorry, no help with the questions)
CONGRATURATION!
lollol.
CONGRATS HOWEVER!
Congratulations.
This story is happy end
Thank you.
My wife doesn't have any problem with me playing games, but I'm having problems finding the time to do it these days :( I'm having too much fun winning free money twice a week.
My one year wedding anniversary is coming up oct 12th.
My wife is cool with my gaming time, she'll even jump in on some Bomberman every once in a while. By the way, she also calls it "playing Nintendo". So cute.
Yes my gf had problems with me playing video games. Till i loaned her my PS2 for awhile.
