Left 4 Dead...summer or not?

So the latest word on Left 4 Dead is that it is due for a late Summer release, Shacknews said this is to be August/September

BUT Turtle Rock the devs are as well now know working on Valve Time...which is notorious for being slower than real world time.

As such I forsee Left 4 Dead being kept behind until Episode 3 is ready for release, so I expect to see Episode 3 and Left 4 Dead coming out November time.

Other Shacknews stuff reports that we are due to see some new TF2 maps (Badlands remake :o ) and an overhaul of the game starting with changes to the medic.

For me, as long as they don't throw in grenades I will be happy! Anything else to keep things fresh is a-ok in my mind.

I would agree about a pushed back date of L4D, except that the game has been done for months and they just held off releasing it cause they wanted to make sure it worked perfectly and they were going into deal negotiations with Valve. You aren't going to release your MAJOR game when you are under deal negotiations, hence the push back until June. And then with Valve jumping in and putting their loveness all over it, chances are they will make it better than that so it isn't like they are perfecting a game. Plus, August is a nice sweet spot for gaming.

And about the maps, you get two maps within two months and the Medic achievement pack with "significant gameplay tweaks for the Medic" will be coming before then.

dude, episode 3 is gonna talk its sweet time to come out, if they haven't got all the shit together already. if i know valve i doubt episode3 to even come out this year, but that would suck so bad for everyone involved...

and valve is all about playtesting. they will playtest this thing until every design element has gone through the valve treatment.

but dude, it would be awesome if they did it again... like, like a "light" orange-box thing. releasing l4d and episode3 in a bundle with some other stuff. if that happens, i will sell my soul to valve and be their slave for eternity.

Though I have heard people saying that Valve started working on Episode 3 during development of Episode 2...who knows though
