Well I think head tracking shouldn't be used for changing the camera per say but rather change the perspective went your head moves.
All images should look like they are really there on the other side of a window. But you still control the camera yourself.
So maybe better for third person games?
I think someone blogged about this a few weeks ago, but still it's cool that both the PS3 and Wii can do this. I doubt any developers are going to take advantage of this for a while though.
I think this could really take games a step further visually, and it's not all that processor intensive, just an input for camera perspective. I would really love to see this utilized in a new game. Anything used with this would look awesome. even platformers.
Wow! Cereals.
Yeah, I still find it interesting that he has to start it by saying "You don't need a Wii Remote to do head tracking." Yes, all I need is an extra camera (that doesn't come with the system) and to make a custom lens cap. :P
Honestly, whoever actually implements this first gets my respect. As cool as I think the Wii would be with this --- what, with the ducking and shooting in a shooter all the way you would do in real life --- it would still be cool in a truly HD game on the PS3.
Didn't seem to track depth very well, but still cool.
I wonder if that could be used with any camera, like the 360 one or any old cheap PC web cam. Certainly a lot cheaper than getting ahold of a PS3 Dev kit and the Playstation Eye. :p
wow that was an impressive display of skill!
