Hey guys, it's Dan or as everyone here knows me (including you, because you're looking at my blog), EternalDeathSlayer. Yeah, I jacked it from Grandma's Boy, eat me. Anyway, I love video games, but more importantly I also love to talk about video games, hence why I am here on Destructoid with you. I've got a wonderful little family of 2 kids and a wife and we all play games in some shape or form. My wife enjoys WoW (probably a bit too much) and playing Halo with either myself or her friends. My kids like kid stuff like Kinectimals or flash games on the PC. And me? I like almost everything. So long as a game is fun or has the ability to effect my feelings or emotions, I'm game.

Wii
I play them all, but truthfully it's not in an "All Consoles are Equal" sort of way. I prefer the 360, mainly because I know more people who own one, but I do play my PS3 whenever a worthy exclusive is released. The exclusives make the purchase worth it. As for the Wii, well, it gets ignored most of the time. But I pull it out from time to time, usually when a big Nintendo game is released for it.

Mmmm I cant wait for FF13, both the "normal" one and Versus... I wonder if the two stories will intertwine?
I'm starting to have faith in SquareEnix and their franchise whoring. As long as it keeps them afloat while making amazing looking games like these, I think I can live with endless remakes. It's for a good cause.

Whats the main difference between Versus and the other title being produced???
Resistance 2 is shaping up to be a lot bigger and hopefully better than it's predecessor, and of course MGS4 and both Final Fantasy games. Oh yeah, God of War 3 next year.
I'd say it's worth the purchase, but you could probably wait and see if the price drops further near the end of the year. It could definitely happen.
From what we know, Final Fantasy Versus XIII is a straight up Action RPG, like Kingdom Hearts or something of that sort. RPG elements like leveling up or experience plus items and shit, but you'll most likely be hacking and slashing your way to victory, and of course using magic also. Like KH. Got it?
@ Mix: Well, you don't have to buy both, not as far as we know. It's not known if the game's stories will intertwine, and I would say probably not based on the media I've seen. Two stand alone titles probably. The Versus game just uses the name and style of the franchise to sell more copies. Hopefully this still translates to success.

I have to say, I LoL'd. Anyway, my son Elijah doesn't know what GTA is so he couldn't give you an opinion. He'd probably kick you in the nuts though. You're Canadian, he can't help it.
As for me, I don't know how that would work out. You can for the most part go wherever in FF games, but obviously not like GTA. I don't know if it would work or if it would be accepted by the fanbase. That's tinkering too much with a good thing. Besides, I like my FF games to have a linear feel to them but also have the ability to go off path and do some side quests. But I appreciate being told where the fuck to go next in FF games.
