Forgive my ignorance but what the hell is Deus Ex? All's I know is it's a PC game that came out 10 years ago. My knowledge of PC games is limited to Call of Duty 2 and The Sims. My PC doesn't turn on, but it has an ATI Radeon X700 video card inside of it. I'm guessing that a pretty dated graphics, but I was able to play the Sims 2 on high settings with no problem.

Back to Deus Ex. Apparently a version of the original game was ported to the Playstation 2 in 2002. I wasn't aware of it. I was too busy playing Resident Evil on the Gamecube. The reviews have been pretty solid for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Human Revolution popped on my Radar after my trip to Blockbuster earlier. I walked in and noticed that all seven copies for the PS3 version of Deus Ex were rented out. I've never seen a whole section of PS3 games rented out at Blockbuster. Ever. I knew it would get worse as I checked the XBOX 360 section. Sold Out. I asked the guy at the counter if he had any copies. He told me they'll be back on Sunday. Great. The game I wanted to spend Hurricane Irene playing will be back on the day Irene shows up.

Looks like I'll have to spend an arm and a leg to buy Deus Ex: Human Revolution. $59.99 is a ridiculous price for a videogame. I'd be cool if videogames were released digitally if it meant I had the option to rent the game before I bought it. Maybe it already exists. Told you I'm ignorant when it comes to PC Gaming. Anyway's I've got a videogame to buy. I'll make sure to not buy it from Gamestop due to them taking the PC version of Deus Ex off it's shelves. I'm not planning on buying the PC version, but I shop where all gamers shop. [img]

How in the hell did you misspell Dude Sex?

No seriously. Deus Ex is one of the greatest games ever made. Play it or...
you can get the original on steam for ten bucks and that will last you over irene(I'm still A little angry it didn't turn into the gulf and give us some drizzle to get me out of school as well.although with the gulf as hot as it is it's probably a good thing it would turn into the new katrina.) While I agree that 60 bucks is alittle high for most games i break it down by dollar amount per hour. My local movie thearter is ten bucks for a 2 hour movie, while a good single player game is 60 for 50-100 hours so in theory I get more for my money and plus I don't have to buy expensive theater popcorn.
You might want to read some of Kieron Gillen's articles dedicated to Deus Ex, but in a nutshell, Deus Ex is one of the first games to successfully integrate both the elements of RPG and shooter into a single game. Aside from the interesting plot (at the time) and the complex ways to customize your JC Denton into your play style, it is famous for it's Liberty level where it's among the first sandbox levels, and rewards players for experimentation and exploration. Many gamers have done self-imposed challenge, all centered to the Liberty level, such as finishing it without killing anyone, without being detected etc.

So you can kinda see why this next installment is kind of a big deal.
Im like you, don't know jack about deus ex. But can somebody enlighten me on what the hell is up with the yellow!?
Try Onlive, download the client and you get to try the game for 30 minutes and if you choose to buy it, it is only 50 dollars. You can always go to walmart, buy the PC version, use the Onlive code that is included and sell the Steam code on eBay, or craigslist and make your money back.

Oh and deus ex machina means "god from the machine", an abrupt end to a problem. It's titled that way because human limits are the problem in the Deus Ex world and augmentations are the simple solutions. In the game if your objective is high and in through the window, you can choose to solve the problem by upgrading your feet and jumping higher, or augmenting your hacking skills and hack your way through the actual building, effectively cheating the "system".

It's a fantastic game that everyone needs to play and is 100% the game of the year. Too bad MW3 will win because it is popular, but I don't think there will be a better designed and developed game this year.
GET. DEUS. EX.
It's an awesome fps/rpg, even to this day.
