I'm sure this is no suprise to anyone, but
The Dark Knight (155.34 million) has unseated
Spider- Man 3 (151.1 million) for the best openeing weekend reports the Los Angeles Assoiciated Press. The record is attributed to the buzz surrounding the death of actor Heath Ledger who plays Batman's arch-nemisis The Joker. The movie was hailed by critics across the nation, and Oscar buzz is in the air for the deceased Ledger.
The Dark Knight also set the record for top single-day movie gross as well bringing in 66.4 million for the movie's Friday debut. Once again topping [i]Spider- Man 3(59.4 million).
I personally am glad to see the movie well recieved and a big hats off to a very talented actor. Rest In Peace Heath you will be missed.
Until Next Time
Eric
And there's no exaggeration there.
Ledger was fantastic. I understand the oscar buzz.
Bale was still a very awkward batman, but I didn't come to see batman so that didn't ruin anything for me. I came to see the Joker.
Ledger, who died in January from an accidental prescription-drug overdose, played the Joker as a demonic presence, his performance prompting predictions that the role might earn him a posthumous Academy Award nomination
I will be genuinely pissed if doesn't. He truly does deserve it, his portrayal of The Joker was beyond words.
Except for puppetpal. He's never funny.
Also... I want to see the Dark Knight sooooo badly.
It's kinda like the Nobel Peace Prize for me. Because I'd kill for both....
But uh yeah, wow. Slow news day much?
Only to rock up to the cinema and find that it is absolutely packed, and that every showing for the rest of the night is sold out, same for Hancock, which I was planning to see if Dark Knight was sold out.
Fucking lame.
Im going to see this movie tonight, I have very high expectations after hearing all of the reviews for this movie.
was good.
Note: I took this photo on Saturday.
DOLPHINS AND WHALES? YES PLEASE.
Seeing the movie again next week, will buy it on DVD or Bluray as well once it comes out
Yeah, agreed. Ledger was incredible and deserves so much praise, but the entire cast was great. Gary Oldman was flawless as Gordon, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine stole their scenes with a few well-placed zingers, and I actually liked Aaron Eckhart for once.
Maggie Gyllenhall, not so much. I was very pleased with the fate of Rachel Dawes.
