Ok, so I'm getting all these weird PSN notes from people on my buddy list saying "Is it fun?", "are you done yet?" or just "LMFAO!" and I'm wondering "what???". I scan through all the messages and hit one that says "I touch myself??" and a light bulb goes off in my head!
Apparently Singstar must now show the song that you are singing ... and yes, I was singing "I touch myself" by the Divinyls (it's in my vocal range!). This must have been a recent update and I'm now shuddering to think that my varied and well... bad... musical tastes are now being broadcast for my entire buddy list to see! I Touch Myself... a song by the Divinyls... but best remembered from Austin Powers when he did a dance to the song to battle the fembots! The song always reminds me of that scene... and it makes me laugh!
I also play Singstar with my husband... so no, it's not me singing those Johnny Cash songs... but yes, it was me singing "What's New Pussycat" by Tom Jones! You know, I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. In some ways I don't like that everyone on my buddy list now sees my terrible taste in music... but on the other hand I found this hilarious once I figured out what was going on!
Anyway, short blog, but I just found this too funny not to share!

LOL! When I figured out what had happened I was initially horrified but soon saw the humour and found it quite funny! The incident also led to an obvious and rather "catchy" blog title! If anyone else gets a laugh out of this... then my job here is done!
I wish that they would let you know what shows on your PSN ID when you're playing a game, watching movies or listening to music though! I had to find out the hard way! I will forwarn people that rent movies from the some of the PSN movie services... what you're watching does show! I'm Canadian so I don't have access to movies... and that's probably a good thing!
The thing that always sucks about working in a grocery store is all those classic hits (and laughable ones) lose so much of their charm.
Well except for Kelly Clarkson. Does Singstar have Kelly Clarkson? I would so buy it for some Kelly Clarkson. We only have one Kelly Clarkson song on the Rock Band side of the music game universe and it's not even Since U Been Gone.

I think it's a trick by Sony to get us to download more songs. I only know a few songs off the disc and I don't really want people to see that I've been singing Toxic hours on ends >_>. Not that singing downloaded songs from The Ting Tings would be any better haha!! <_<
So SingStar Queen is good?? I wish that they just put all their songs on the SingStore as I would more likely download on a whim then buy another karoke game. Then again, i'd get more milage out Queen then the original offerings.

I'm manly enough that I can openly admit here that there are songs I like in Rock Band 2 that are sung by women.
As for actually singing... I don't have a microphone, so it's unlikely anybody will hear me try to hit those high notes any time soon in any karaoke-based game, and my voice isn't really that deep for a man's.
I can almost hear you singing Johnny Cash's Fulsom County Blue ("I once shot a man just to watch him die"). It's accurate, you do shoot men just to watch them die...and get XP ^__^
This brings me back to my childhood. Does singstar have any Radiohead? You should be singing their songs if they do. :) I'm sure your voice sounds beautiful singing "I touch myself" and "What's new pussy cat" anyway though.
