Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
@ Sharpless: Meh, it's an acquired taste. Not my personal cup of tea.
*tap* *tap* *tap* *tap* OH HHHHHHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
You don't need a another pedal for that. The only thing you would need a second bass pedal for is a pattern that is straight bass with no breaks.
That's terrible. My freaking ears man.
some guy 100% this song by talking monotone.... no screaming at all
also, this guy sounds like a fucking nerd. almost to the point that i want to punch him in the throat.
it will getter done
Its a matter of taste. I personally don't see how anyone could have fun singing Bon Jovi or Paramore on repeat. Most pop bands sound just as similar as most metal bands do. People often look over subpar, generic songwriting for a pretty face and a slight difference in vocals.
Mostly, this is a move by Harmonix to appease those who feel alienated by the latest iterations of these rhythm games. The original Guitar Hero's major draw for a lot of people were the blazing fast metal riffs. With the move to full band rhythm games, we are seeing less and less of those types of songs. Not because they are inferior musically, but because the vocal style doesn't lend itself well to a casual multiplayer game (which is what these games have become).
You can take the rest of the set list, but don't "baw' over the 3 songs that are meant to appease a niche audience. I have to drag through songs by "amazing bands" such as "Panic at the Disco", "Jimmy Eat World", and Alanis Morisette just to get to them.
Really? Its gone down the drain? They put 1 death metal track in the game and that has soiled the Rock Band name for you?
Try out a band called Periphery. They have a singer with incredible range, syncopated rhythms, and enough melody to appeal to a wider audience. Their songs Icarus Lives and Insomnia would be perfect for a game like Rock Band.
It's no John Mayer, but somehow I think at least one of you might like it.
I just don't appreciate that I have to play through these songs, for example, in Guitar Hero, if I want an achievement or something. I mean, these sorts of songs actually make me ill. I realize you can't make everyone happy with these games, but this throaty, growly death metal stuff just seems a little too "fringe" to be on the main disc. DLC is fine, but I'm not down with this being in the core game. Bleh.
Conflict: BULB FUCK YES!
I understand people not liking this music, thats fair enough, your opinion is your opinion, but blatantly coming out and saying that this is Shit just because you don't dig it is really fucking ignorant.
Just think of every jock or politician or soccer mom who gets up on a podium and says shit like "Videogames are a waste of time" and that they "don't understand how people can just sit there and play these games, they should just go outside". No doubt it makes you angry when you hear this crap from people who don't know the first thing about videogames and if you're given the chance you'd get up there and defend the medium that you love. Well, this the same deal.
You don't have to like it, but don't come on here with nothing to say but "this is shit". clearly enough people do like it enough for it to be put into the game, so deal with it.
the world needs more Djent. ROCKBAND needs more Djent.
