I saw this video a while ago, and I was just reminded of it when the finalized ION Drums were released. This was apparently shown off at CES, and it even looked fucking awesome then, but since then, they've improved most of the things, and even made the design more aesthetic and compact.
Being the consumer whore I am, I'm buying the ION Drum Rocker kit as soon as I can, but the general consensus is that people have reservations for spending $300 for a huge drum set. What do you think?
The ION Drums Prototype & CES.
The Finalized ION Drum Rocker™.
The Above Drum Kit in public.
This video makes the drum kit seem a lot quieter, as well show no difficulty in playing with the ride and crash cymbals (though the hi-hat appears to be gone.)
It looks so pretty... Clincer is going to be the release date and price point over here in UK. I'd hope it to be around the £150 mark... knowing this place though, £250 and that makes me cry...

It kinda threw me off that the crash cymbal doesn't come with the set.
Of course that assumes this stuff ever gets released in aus/nz.
It has been confirmed by Harmonix in the latest Game Informer that if you buy a drum brain in can in fact be used as an electronic drumset.
The problem for me... shipping.
