Even so, this does not make Assassin's Creed a good game.

Assassin's Creed isn't a bad game. It's simply not spectacular.

Assassin's creed isn't good, it's amazing. People can't seem to appreciate the risk a game developer takes in trying new things and making it work. And the storyline just screams amazing sequels.

I'm sure I'm not in the norm here, but I'm about 40% through the game... and to be honest, I quite like it... It's a fantastic game to to play in the few hours at a time I've got to play it...

Seriously though, if you don't let yourself get caught up in the hype machine, you can actually appreciate the face value of things, (you know, instead of letting the machinations of a pseudo-corporate entity dictate what you 'think' you might like.)
