I return once again with bad news in the life of Little Billy. His birthday has long since passed and he's still upset over Namco not making his wish come true, that was fine though after he picked up his new favorite game,
Rhythm Tengoku Gold. Now, for those of you that haven't heard of the game, it plays a lot like WarioWare (Same developers I believe) in that it consists of multiple stages (they last a good deal longer than WarioWare's typical microgame). Unlike WarioWare though, Rhythm Tengoku has you playing these games by keeping the rhythm to various songs using certain actions.
The first challenge for instance, has you hurling a cylindrical block into the center of two square blocks. The catch is, the square blocks start on opposite ends and move toward the center point (where your cylinder is to be launched at) in time with the stage music. Once the two blocks meet at the center, you launch the cylinder at them, causing the 3 pieces to make an oddly shaped...Something and fall away from view.
If that little description didn't give you a good enough idea of what the game is like, take a look at the trailer:

Yes, it is a Japanese title at the moment, however it is coming to the US, so no worries for those of you without a flash card or those who just don't like importing.
Enough about the game though, this is about Little Billy! As I said, Billy
was fine after he picked up Rhythm Tengoku...That was until he got to the 7th column of stages and was pitted against a blocky man who he has dubbed "Ping-Pong guy". I won't go into detail about this stage, as it may infuriate Billy, who happens to be sitting right next to me as I type. You can catch a quick glimpse of the stage at 0:12 in the trailer though. The Ping-Pong man, needless to say, has upset Billy with the difficulty of his second level to the point where it prompted him to write this letter:
Billy had been able to get all gold frames (the highest attainable rank on a stage) up until Ping-Pong guy showed up to stop him dead in his tracks. Now this poor child weeps at the sight of his dull, silver frame around the Ping-Pong man's paddle on the stage selection screen.
I cannot stand to see Billy in such agony. He used to draw such happy pictures when he first picked the game up...
Now he repeatedly shoves this work of art in my face, screaming about how he has nightmares about it every time he closes his eyes...
I call upon the Destructoid members to help ease Little Billy's pain. Anyone who has access to Rhythm Tengoku Gold can help! All you have to do is beat the living piss out of the Ping-Pong man, nothing more. Just by doing that, the devilishly teal bastard's grasp on Billy's mind will be ever so slightly lifted, eventually to the point where Billy can kick the crap out of him as well.
Only with your help can Billy live a happy life once more!
Also I too totally love the lizard.
Like this?
I look forward to more crayon drawings.
Also I didn't realize you had Soul Caliber IV EarthbounderNess.
So when are we going to battle my friend?? My hunger for new souls is never ending.
I am sad to know there is a second ping pong guy. :(
Whenever I can scrounge up some free time, work has me on a short leash right now. Feel free to send a friend invite though, I'd be happy to face you when I get the chance.
SPOILERS!
I just can't for the second one. :(
