The Miami NARP. It. Was. AMAZING! Pics inside. Lots.
EX35 | 9:52 PM on 11.23.2008 19 comments

So, yea. The title says it all. The Miami NARP was pretty kick ass. I had an amazing time. When I got there, it was freakin packed. I can tell that the crew running the whole place (pretty much most of the people with the words 'I CAME' on their shirts) was trying hard to keep everything in check. There was Street Fighter 3, Brawl, Soul Calibur 4, and Guilty Gear X going on in one room where the other room with Gears, Halo, and the other games is still locked up. Around 8:15 PM is when the doors finally opened and everyone flooded inside the room.

The first thing I did when I entered was to buy a Destructoid charm for my DS.

My webcam is shit, I know. Well, the charm was made by Epic Sugarworks, so be sure to check out their website. I just love how it was made. :D

After I bought my charm, I ate some pizza, then I headed towards the Rock Band stage! I spent the majority of my time at the Rock Band stage. Going crazy and rocking out.

During my time on stage, I managed to scout out the best guitarist, drummer, and bassist I can find, so we can all tackle on the hardest song in Rock Band 2....

PAINKILLER!

The drummer went on Expert...and for those who has played Painkiller on drums...you know about the solos at the beginning and at the end of the song. He failed in the first 5 secs of the song, but he said he got the pattern down pact. So, we restarted the song...and epicness ensued.

I was the singer. Black hat and gloves.

We managed to pass the song with flying colors. The drummer was epic, the guitarist did amazing, and the bassist rocked. Funny thing is, we were the only ones that went up there that all 4 members of the band picked Hard/Expert difficulties and not fail once. No one needed saving. Plus, we attracted the biggest crowd. After the song was over, we were met with roaring cheers and applause. We were the only band that went up there to receive such a reaction. No lie.

I'm surprised my voice didn't give out cause I match the song's vocals (high pitch and all) to a perfect T. Ask Saku. She was there. lol.

The Painkiller performance made my night and that was the highlight (for me). The NARP overall was a great sucess. If you want to see pics of the NARP, the guys at SFX360 took a ton of photos of the event, including the famous Mr. Destructoid candies and accessories Epic Sugarworks made in all their glory.

Here's the link. http://gallery.me.com/pallidian#100190

Enjoy viewing all the pics.

Overall, awesome job to Colette, Niero, SFX360, AGA, R3y's Gameday, and the rest of the guys who made this NARP possible. It was great hanging out with you all and hopefully I'll be able to rock out again at the next NARP.

You haven't played Rock Band until you've played Rock Band in front of a crowd of people at a NARP.

Holy shit i remember you...I think. Did you sing Afterlife? I was in the Gears tourney at the corner TV so I had a good view of the RB setup.
EX35's Destructoid Blog
I sang Holiday in Cambodia, Painkiller, and Almost Easy. You probably heard me sing Almost Easy, since that 360 didn't have the Avenged Sevenfold DLC.

@Qraze

Unfortunately, no booze.
ElfAngel7's Destructoid Blog
Sadly, booze was unpossible at the event proper due to restrictions from FIU. However, what you do in the privacy of your car is your business.....out in the parking lot....
