Well, all of you already know that GH: World Tour is coming out with a bunch of stuff. All the songs are master tracks, almost limitless customization in avatars, equipment, and even songs. One of the big things that is a must for a game like this is the DLC, which is confirmed for the 360 and PS3 versions of the game.
But wait...the Wii as well? How can that be. The Wii doesn't have any storage capabilities and there is no way Activision is going to use the Wii's 512 MB internal memory.
Well, good news for Wii owners. The guys at Vicarious Visions (helped out in making the Wii version of GHIII and GH: On Tour for the DS) is actually bringing the goods to the Wii.
Apparently, the game will have an in-game Music Store, which allows players to preview, purchase and download new songs as they release them online. Players can purchase songs using their Wii Points. You can download to the Wii System Memory or store songs on an SD Card, called the "Rock Archive."
They also have a new feature called "create-a-set list". So when you want to play songs you have purchased, you just make a custom set list of songs you wish to play from the Rock Archive, pick a venue and play!
Plus, if you accidentally delete a song, or don't have an SD Card and have run out of room in the Wii system memory, you can always re-download the song for free.
Now, this is big. I'm personally getting the game for the PS3, but I wouldn't mind getting the game for the Wii (when I own one that is). Reason? Well, VV hinted at there could be some Wii exclusive songs.
Who wouldn't want to jam out to remixed guitar versions of your favorite Nintendo themes?
Also, since Activision and VV is pulling this off, does that mean that the SD slot for the Wii is soon to be unlocked? And what does that mean for Rock Band? Well, the Rock Band version for the Wii is nothing more than a PS2 port...while the GH: World Tour Wii version, according to VV, is going to be a 'game' and not a poor 'port'.
I'm just happy that the Wii version of the game will have everything the 360 and PS3 versions provide. Including the whole GH Tunes service.
I'm excited. What about you guys?
And the front page blogs in the NIIIIIIIIIIGHT
Rock Band for the Wii has been officially trumped. There is no reason I can see to get it on the 22nd unless you are that impatient. If your a Wii owner, patience is a virtue you have earned.
Have they released any info about online play? I know they will feature like up to 8 person multiplayer. Does this include joining a band online and playing songs or will everyone have to be at the same console?
I hope the download system they use is anything like Blast Works Depot, then it will be a snap. Just que up files online and connect with the Wii to auto download.
I think Nintendo's told them something we don't know. Without some sort of external storage there's no way in hell they could get DLC to work.
But agreeing with what Spitfire said, Rock Band is now outdone on the Wii and GH:WT has even more points.
Yea, there's info on online play. And yes, it will feature online multiplayer. Like I said, the Wii version will feature everything the 360 and PS3 versions have to offer...except for those high quality graphics of course.
@Njsykora
As I mentioned, they're going to use the SD card technology.
Ex35; as you forget, Nintendo has those blocked. So they'd still have to tell them something we don't know.
And the FRONT PAGE comes in the niiiiiight
@Gynecologist Cobra
Lol. We'll see.
What Gynecologist Cobra is saying is this info was already on the front page yesterday as part of Nick's GHWT coverage.
