Internet, consider yourself on notice! Starting tomorrow, I'll be counting down the days until February 10th by detailing one of 50 characters and their corresponding stage and moveset from the upcoming game Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
"50 characters!" I'm sure you're saying to yourself now. Well knock off that sentience! Once you start thinking, the human race is doomed to a world ruled by computers.
To you humans out there thinking the same thing, it's a pretty popular idea that there will be between 40 and 50 characters in the game. Obviously, since there haven't been that many characters revealed, about half of these will be guesses. So, check back tomorrow for the beginning of my countdown to Smash!

But speculation is usually based on facts right? We already know for a fact that there won't be over a dozen third-party characters. I don't mean to shit on your parade but this just isn't making sense to me.
Well, we don't know for a fact that there will be 50 characters. There might just be 30. If so then my predictions could very much be considered speculation as I've got about 25-38 total Nintendo characters lined up.
I had the idea, there are 50 days left until Brawl (starting tomorrow), and I figured that the time was right. If Nintendo does release the game with 47 unique first party characters, I'd be impressed, because I wracked my brain for a week trying to think of character ideas.
Consider the 3rd-party characters just a stab in the dark at the one or two more characters yet to be revealed.

the game is called smash brothers *B*rawl. Brawl starts with the letter B, which is the first letter of BOMB oddly enough. so it is without a doubt certain that bomberman will be in the game. not only as a playable character, but EVERY character!
You forgot one very important clue Rider Chop... Not only is B the first letter of BOMB, it is also the last and final letter in the word BOMB. It's INDISPUTABLE!
ALl we can do now is wait for release, and then check the interweb for al the juicy details of which characters were cut, if any at all were, and any other pieces of info nintendo did not divulge at smashbros.com. Personally I will be very dissapointed if they cut ANY characters, just doesnt seem fair to me.
I'd be very happy if Bomberman, Mega Man, or Simon Belmont got in. Beyond that, I'm hoping that every character makes a return, including clones (retooled if need be; Luigi's not a clone, so STFU). What would make me even happier is if Sakurai saw fit to include Ness alongside Lucas and Marth/Roy alongside Ike.

Hi! I play video games and don't afraid of anything. Well, I am afraid that I might accidentally a whole Jill sandwich... but the chances of that happening are slim! I don't blog as much as I'd like to.
I don't really have a favorite genre, because I like pretty much all video games. It's easier to just list the genres that I don't like. Simulation sports games (Madden, Tiger Woods, etc.) are no fun at all in my opinion and most FPS games (with few exceptions) bore me.
I wanted to join this community because the front page posts are fantastic, and the cblogs are packed full of win. During my time here, I've met tons of amazing people, and have had an awesome time at the first Mega-NARP in Cincinnati. My favorite thing about Destructoid is the cocks. Long live Destructoid.com!

I had accounted for that... the Japanese release date is January 24th btw. 17 days prior to the US release and 158 + X days prior to the UK release.
