Today's character is a real bad guy, and continuing the tradition of big bad guys, this one is also a pretty big guy. This character is more of a thinker than a fighter, but he certainly uses his brains to his advantage when he's got to go up against the good guys, and just like any good villain, he's always got an escape pod tucked away somewhere. He's also got a rockin' mustache! Today's character is:


Dr. Robotnik

I know that now he's technically known as Dr. Eggman, but he'll always be Robotnik in my heart.

B: Robot Toss - Dr. Robotnik throws a random robot in the direction he's facing. He could throw a "dozer", which will run across the screen, looking to drill into anyone who crosses his path. He could throw a "mecha-monkey", which will land with a coconut bomb in hand, going kamikaze on whoever crosses his path first. He could throw many different kinds of robots! This attack will do a maximum of 5%-18% depending on what type of robot is tossed.
< or >B: Drill Car Charge - Dr. Robotnik gets in his drill car, which he used to fight Sonic at the end of the first level in Sonic 2, and drives forwards in the direction he's facing when this move is used. You can also press the "B" button to shoot the drill off of the end of the car. If this move hits, it'll do a maximum of 10% damage.
^B: Egg-Pod - Oh no! He's getting away! This is Dr. Robotnik's escape pod, that he uses to get away from Sonic when he's in real danger of being caught. This move will allow Dr. Robotnik to rise up (the direction can be changed afterwards) for 2.8 seconds in order to recover if things get rough. What an ironic twist... normally Dr. Robotnik uses this move to get away from his opponents, and now he's using it to stay close!
vB: Spike Set - The levels that Sonic would have to travel though would be full of traps, and the most devious of them all was the spikes. With this move, Dr. Robotnik plants a pit of spikes in the space in front of him, leaving rough terrain for anyone that might come across it! The spikes will hit for a maximum of 17% damage, and they stay in the ground for 5 seconds.
Final Smash: Egg Machine - Dr. Robotnik summons one of his most grand creations, the Egg-Man Machine, and hops into the driver's seat! This move lasts for 15 seconds, and during that time, you can press "A" to punch forward with a spiked hand, or "B" to shoot a spiked hand forward. You can also step on your opponents. Any hits from this machine will do 25% damage to the opponent that's hit.

Dr. Robotnik's Stage:


This stage is inside of the Death Egg from the Sonic 2 and 3 games. This stage is a flat stage (that's about as wide as Termina Bay from Super Smash Bros. Melee) that scrolls to the left. Pits appear in the stage as you go left, as well as platforms in the air. Also, Dr. Robotnik's Egg Machine is walking towards the left side of the screen as well. Try to destroy it to get it out of the way!

Hazards:
The scrolling stage can knock you into a pit if you get too wraped up with an opponent... try to stay on any platforms that appear on the screen so you don't get pushed into a pit. Also, Dr. Robotnik's Egg Machine can damage you with it's spiked fists. The robot doesn't intentionally attack, it just walks to the left, swinging it's arms as it goes. You can land on the arms and use them as platforms, so try to use them to your advantage!

Considering that Sonic is in the game, I'd say that the chances of seeing Dr. Robotnik are good, but not great. He could make an appearance in the game as an assist trophy, or even a boss character in the subspace emissary, but the chances of him being a playable character, in my opinion, aren't very good considering Nintendo's statement of 2-3 third party characters. There's no denying that he'd make an interesting Brawler though, as he's a heavyweight bad guy that plays with a more defensive mindset. Let's get Bowser, Ganon, Dr. Robotnik, and King K. Rool into a brawl, and see who comes out on top!
