Today's character is a tortured soul that would like nothing more than a good fight to ease his troubled mind. One of the last of his kind, he's actually gone on to disguise himself and work for the government's paranormal wing so he can keep a close eye on his troublesome father. If you haven't figured it out by now, today's character is:
Alucard!
B: Hellfire - Alucard shows signs of his father's influence in using this move. He'll open his cape, revealing three fireballs that hit for a maximum of 5% fire damage each.
< or >B: Form of Wolf - Alucard uses his vampire blood to transform into a wolf. He then charges in the direction smashed, thirsty for blood! If you use this attack in the air, Alucard will lunge downward in the direction pressed at an angle similar to Captain Falcon's Falcon Kick, and if this move makes contact it'll hit for a maximum of 15% damage.
^B: Form of Bat - What good is a vampire if he can't turn into a bat? With this move, Alucard transforms into a bat for a maximum of four seconds. While you're flying around, if you press
A you'll shoot a fireball that does a maximum of 4% fire damage. It's a secret, but if you press
>,>, A or <, <, A you'll do a "Bat Smash" in the direction you pressed for a maximum of 15% damage. The direction of the dash can even be modified once the dash is started!
vB: Form of Mist - With this bit of vampire trickery, Alucard transforms into a cloud of Mist for one second. This attack doesn't do any damage, but it'll also negate any damage from an attack an opponent would make, since you're mist! Alucard has a 10% chance of turning into a yellow poison cloud, which will do a maximum of 3% damage initially, and then the opponent that walked into the cloud will be dealt an additional 1% damage every three seconds for 30 seconds.
Final Smash: Cursed Slumber - A coffin comes in from off stage, flying in from all sides of the stage to encase Alucard. If any of these pieces hit an opponent, it'll do a maximum of 18% dark damage. Once the coffin is put together, it starts to spin like a top in the middle of the stage, and if an opponent is hit by the spinning coffin they'll be dealt a maximum of 30% damage! You ought to know better than to disturb a sleeping vampire! Finally, when Alucard comes out of the coffin, his damage percent is reduced by 25%.
I've actually mapped out all of the moves for his entire move set and if you'd like to see it, just let me know in the comments and I'll post them there.
Alucard's Stage:
This stage is based off of Alucard's adventures in Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse. You can climb the steps if you'd like, and if you hit the candles, items will fall out of them. Think of candles as this stage's boxes!
Hazards:
This stage doesn't have any pits at the bottom of the stage, nor do any monsters appear to ruin your day, but the ground in this stage isn't very sturdy... certain blocks will start to crumble and fall away after a few seconds! Just try to stay up top, and you should be fine. It could get a bit crowded up there though. Maybe you should go down for a quick breather...
Will Alucard make it into the game? Let's ask the
magic 8 ball! "Signs point to yes!" That's enough confirmation for me! Seriously, his chances are worse than
Richter's (or any other Belmont's) as he's not as iconic to the series, and he's only ever played a minor role in Nintendo games, first in 3, and then in Dawn of Sorrow. When most people think of Alucard, they think of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which is a Playstation game. He would definitely make an excellent character with a ridiculously varied and complex move set. I'd love to see Alucard as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and I know I'm not alone. Come on Sakurai, you miserable pile of secrets, make this a reality!
Come back tomorrow for more rampant, unfounded speculation as I count down the days until the US release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl!
As always, if you've missed any of the old updates due to the holiday season (or just want to go back and read or discuss about your favorite predictions) then just go here. I'll keep the links current, so you can bookmark the page and check back later for any updates.
We already have a lot of guys with swords, and while I would like to blast that overpowered cunt Link off the side of a stage with a well-place Wing Smasher to the chest Alucard is a pipe dream. Aww ;(
interesting to say the least. sadly snakes inclusion kinda rules him out as a possible character from konami. I love him all the same.
I was really hoping that this would be about Jesus.
Jesus confirmed for brawl.
@Tino:
Today's character is:
JESUS!
B: Die for your sins - Jesus dies for your sins. What a swell guy!
< or >B: Die for your sins - Jesus dies for your sins. What a swell guy!
^B: Die for your sins - Jesus dies for your sins. What a swell guy!
vB: Die for your sins - Jesus dies for your sins. What a swell guy!
Final Smash: He is Risen - Jesus comes back to life! AMAZING!
I would enjoy this idea.
Some day, I hope Dynamic Sheep gets to make his own cross over fighting game.
It would be grand.
Any Vampire who transforms into a Wolf of a Bat is automatically a poor excuse of undead. 'cause we all know theres nothing like a bad ass vamp who transforms into a tiny cute bat to escape. Alucard from Hellsing is way cooler >_<.
Nintendo, take notice Jonathan Holmes (aka Tron Knotts) says that you should hire my ass as a consultant for the next Smash Bros. game! DO IT!
