Today's characters really need to grow up! They're always crying, and depending on others to help them out. Well, if they're going to be in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, they'll have to help themselves! Today's characters are:


The Mario Babies!

B: Hammer - The Mario babies pull out their hammer and flatten their opponents into pancakes! This move can be charged up, and if it hits an opponent at full charge it'll do a maximum of 13% damage. What, they're only babies after all! Another helpful use of this move is that if you have it lined up just right, so that one baby would hit the other with the hammer, the baby that's hit will flatten out, and you can fly solo for a few seconds!
< or >B: Nuk Nuk Toss - The Mario babies get fed up, and toss their pacifiers at their opponents. This projectile comes in a pair, and bounces along the ground. If it hits an opponent, it'll do a maximum of 6% damage per pacifier.
^B: Canon Shoot - The babies jump into their canons and blast out! This move works as an excellent recovery move, and if you hit an opponent mid flight you'll do a maximum of 9% damage per baby.
vB: Cry - This move is similar to Jigglypuff's vB move in that on it's on, it seems worthless... the attack does no damage, and you're left wide open for attack. However, this move will lower the damage done by all opponents within a certain area (relatively close to the babies) by 75% (i.e. if an attack would do 50% damage, it would only do 13% damage when under the influence of this attack) for 10 seconds. They just feel so bad hitting those poor little babies!
Final Smash: Buggy Bash - The Mario babies have fond memories of their time spent on the race track, and they draw on those memories for their final smash! With this move, the Mario babies are put into a buggy, and they're dragged around the screen by a giant chain chomp! Anyone hit by this chain chomp will be hit for 38% damage! The babies have to be careful though, because the chain chomp won't let them know it's leaving, so they'll have to catch themselves if they wind up falling once it leaves!

These babies would work as a team, just like the ice climbers do. When you do an attack, both babies will attack, and that's good, since they're just tiny little babies! Try not to feel too bad about smashing them though, because it's either you or them!

Baby Mario Bros' Stage:


This stage is based on the Baby Mario Bros' adventures in Partners in Time. This level takes place in a dangerous two screen high castle. Watch out or you might fall! (Sorry about the crummy image, I did this on a computer at work with paint)

Hazards:
This stage is pretty straight forward... just don't fall! The babies should get a break when it comes to their stage, since they're so little!

The fact that the mario babies are first party characters makes them good candidates for inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The fact that they've got the Ice Climber's "gimmick" may not be good for their chances. It would be nice to have another option when it comes to tag team characters though. I guess we'll just have to wait until Feb. 10th to find out if they make the cut!
