Today's character is a dreamer. It's constantly drifting off, and it's even been known to lull others off to dream land! Most people would consider it a push over, but there's a secret, hidden power that lies within this meek creature just waiting for a master to unlock. Wake up, it's:
Jigglypuff!
B: Rollout - The old favorite returns! Jigglypuff rolls in place like the wheel of a drag racer before smashing into an opponent for a maximum of 10% damage.
< or >B: Pound - Jigglypuff is a tough guy. Or girl, whatever. This attack is the same as it's ever been, as Jigglypuff pulls back and puts all of it's weight into a punch that will do a maximum of 13% damage.
^B: Sing - Ji-ggly-puff, Jiga-leeeeeeeee-puff. Jigglypuff sings it's trademark song, putting all opponents in a close enough area to sleep.
vB: Dream Eater - No more sleeping for Jigglypuff... someone's used a TM on it, and now it's a dream eating machine. This move will do a maximum of 17% dark damage, but it can only be used on a sleeping opponent.
Final Smash: Nightmare - Ahhh! Turn on the night light and close the closet door, you're in for a fright! Jigglypuff unleashes it's ultimate attack, putting everyone but it to sleep. Jigglypuff can use this time to attack it's opponents with
Dream Eater, or it can recover using items strewn about the stage. Either way, once the sleeping spell is over the opponents will wake up with quite a scare, having received 15% dark damage from their worst nightmares!
Jigglypuff's Stage:
What could be more appropriate as a stage for Jigglypuff than a giant bed? This stage is as big as the Hyrule temple stage in Melee, so prepare for some hit and run fests! The bed is soft, so any damage that would be done from landing on it, such as being thrown, will be cut in half!
Hazards:
The bedroom is usually a place of rest, but not in the Super Smash Bros. Brawl universe! The bed has monsters under it, and if you get attacked by one of them, you'll be dealt a maximum of 8% dark damage! Also, the bed can sometimes get a little too beat up, and a spring will pop out of it, launching however happens to be walking across that point when it comes out. The spring will stick around, but it is destructible, so you can break it if it's in your way.
Jigglypuff, the constant underdog. It's a hidden character that you don't have to do anything to unlock! I think it's pretty safe to say that Jigglypuff will be returning in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a playable, hidden character. The only real point of speculation lies in it's
Final Smash... I think it would be great if Jigglypuff got a really wicked
Final Smash to make up for it's otherwise weak move set, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what Sakurai thought would be best. It won't be too much longer until we're fighting as Jigglypuff... that is, unless you don't like to fight as it!
Come back tomorrow for more rampant, unfounded speculation as I count down the days until the US release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl!
As always, if you've missed any of the old updates due to the holiday season (or just want to go back and read or discuss about your favorite predictions) then just go here. I'll keep the links current, so you can bookmark the page and check back later for any updates.
I hate Jigglypuff, my younger brother used to watch the show and that song was so damn annoying. But still, another job well done Sheep. I keep meaning to send you a friend request on Live.
Should be interesting how they redo this plague on humanity once he makes his comeback. Not sure how "rest" is going to work with the new physics system, then again I never really understood rest in the first place.
Jiggly puff was fun to play with only when you fell asleep on some one. That was hands down the sweeetest victory in all of melee. I son't e too torn up if she/he/it misses this iteration though.
Jigs' down B was AMAZING. I would always dominate my friends with that move, and they had no idea what hit them. (They thought it just put her to sleep and I never dispelled that rumor.
What?? No sleep?? Shenanagins
Jigglypuff kicks ass. She's the only character I could use to beat that event in Melee where you fight Giga Bowser, MewTwo and Gannondorf all at the saem time.
Causing all three of those legendary last bosses get their butts stomped by a little pink nightmare with no arms or legs, a balloon for a body, and big baby blue eyes was the ultimate revenge for years of suffering at their collective hands.
The only thing more humiliating than losing to Jigglypuff is getting beat down by Dan.
I destroy as Jigglypuff.
when you know how to use her, she's a bitch to deal with.
I do wish they would fix the Sleep move. Speed it up for her, so that she doesn't sit open for a hit so long.
@Jon:
I spent hours trying to beat that last event match... literally weeks worth of hours. I tried as Link, as Samus, as Pikachu, as Ganon, as Peach, as Fox, as Zelda, as DK... anyone whose abilities I had a good grasp of, I used. Then I broke down, went to gamefaqs, and it said, Event Match 51: Use Jigglypuff. And I was like fuck you. So I went to Youtube, and looked it up, and saw how Jiggly owned. Then I beat it, and never used Jigglypuff again.
The end.
@topgear
I have friends who are amazing with jigglypuff and it still brings me a little shame whenever I lose :(
