[b]Do you consider yourself a hardcore gamer? Chances are your not.Do you use FAQs?
Use unlimited continues, play your games on easier difficulties or use codes or cheating devices. If you have
done any of the following, you just aren't hardcore.I know I have and the sad thing is most gamers have.I
remember back in the day it was something you boasted about being able to finish a game without
dying. Now it seems that time has gone away due to our sick and perverted love of all things HD.Hardcore
used to be about skill now it is a hollow shell of its once illustrious past. The term has loss all meaning and
now refers to games that could'nt hold a candle to games of that era.

Weaksauce. That is now the state of gaming today.A generation of gamers who rather take the easy way
out of a situation.I shake my head in confusion.Where did we go wrong? On the subject of which, Wii
exactly, I do not blame Nintendo it goes far deeper than that. The blame should be placed on gamers or
should I say the ones that currently support the HD console war.You begged and pleaded to your beloved
console makers that you wanted all this raw horsepower but you never asked for better games just more of
the same. And what so we get just more of the same.It used to be all about gameplay, now the primary
focus of gamers is the new shiny pretty very empty.WTF! Did I miss a memo or something?I am now a firm
believer in Nintendo's philosophy.I think we should all take a step back before we should any further. My
graphics have evolved but gameplay is still in the stoneage.Speaking of which I have converted to all things
retro, especially my games.I feel that we as well since no new games offer the raw and true grit of the old
school.

I offer this blog up as a challenge to all gamers young and old.Don't let hardcore become a over used
fanboy stereotype and play all your games to 11.

Please excuse the nature of my little rant.I was a little sleepy while typing it and I liege I made a few errors.Sorry.

Edit: The sentence after the first mention of Nintendo.I meant to say, "I think we should take a step back before we should go any further.
Yup, and we used to have to ride our bicycles to school in snowstormes, uphill both ways.
Whimpersnappers these days.
As horribly structured, and therefore a chore to read, this rant is (THANKS GOOGLE CHROME >:|), I kinda agree.

I think the whole "Hardcore" "Casual" thing is utter bollocks, though, so I don't. There's no magical badge that gets taken away.

So, this person cheated? Did they get LESS fun out of the game? Probably not. I know someone who basically has to cheat, but he's still massively into gaming, and has an awful lot of fun. Are you planning to deny that? I can assure you he's harder core than most of us here.
dang these hooligans
back in my day Game genie was a curse word that would get you some time on the time-out corner :'(
I play on easier modes occasionally (depends on the game). And I'll check out a FAQ when I get stuck for more than 15 min. Why should I get stuck and not be able to enjoy the rest of the game THAT I PAID FOR simply because I'm not in the same mindset that the level designer was in when he made it?
No , I f* finished Nija Gaiden Sigma on hard without any cheat codes or FAQS or anything , just me , my PS3 ...
i got the platinum in lbp and soon to get it in bioshock playing it on impossible. that's hardcore. and its my love for games that makes me hardcore, not a difficulty setting, anyone can play a game on hard difficulty.
The person at EB Games gave me $10 off SFIV because I was so hardcore for buying the game the day it came out. And then I got my ass handed to me over and over again.
No I'm puttting a stop to the confusion between visuals and true traditional gameplay.
