Hey for those of you keeping an eye on WAR and were WOW players theres this 'guide' for you to notice the subtle differences for the game. I also want to point out that the game is in open beta form now, and that if you preorder you cant enter the fray 2 day earlier than us humans (4 days if you preorder the elite).

highlights:
+ pvp = war > wow
+ secondary skills(mining,alchemy) wow > war
+ classes war(20) > wow(10)

I know there are some of us wiating for this game, and if I can remember correctly there were plan to be on the 'chaos' side if anyone cares to join us for some skullbashing fun.

Heres the guide patriots
WoW->WaR

I've been intrigued by this game. I played WOW for a short time, maybe 3-6 months. I've been thinking about getting into another MMO and this one seems promising.

Any opinions or recommendations?

Man, I'm a gigantic Warhammer fan. I've made post after post. After post about this game. And yet the terrible terrible truth from playing it is, WoW > WaR.

WaR has no substance other then flavor to offer. The 20 classes are just as varied as the races in Everquest 2(as in not at all) and the PvE is a joke. The only thing WaR has going for it is massive PvP(Which it does better then WoW less then Guildwars) In presentation only.

One problem with people judging WAR right now in it's beta is you're only playing the low-end content. Which, granted is fun for awhile, but I'm sure you keep switching classes to see how they play out, and then it gets a bit boring at the lower levels.

Another problem that arises while judging a beta is the low server population cap, it seems like they're only letting about 2-5k people in each server which makes many places feel deserted and not many people around to do what you want. Want to run a dungeon? Probably not enough people to go with you right now. Want to raid a keep? Sorry, the 15 other people in your zone are doing PQs or questing.

I love what the game is right now, last night I defended a keep and it felt right and I got rewarded for doing so. Where as in WoW the only PvP you get rewarded for are the 4 scenarios that you do over and over and over and over.

Heya, im currently playing the Open Beta and thought I might comment on this.

To be honest, i think WoW and Warhammer are games that try in shine in completely different spectrum's. While WoW has great PvE gameplay Warhammer makes up for the great PvP (or RvR if you will).

In WoW classes are balanced for PvE but not so much for PvP, while warhammer takes a different approach as classes are balanced for group PvP (and not 1v1), this is what makes the big PvP battles so awesome there isn't one shooting or two shooting opponents in this game, tanks actually make a difference and healer are actually pretty fun to play.

Judging the game by earlier levels in my opinion is a bit harsh because the true fun begins at higher levels when you can capture keeps for your guild or even smack your enemies in their very own city. Not to mention you can use ton's of siege weapons in game already against your enemies in RvR.

So let me just get something straight, if you want deep PvE with full scripted events etc. stick to warcraft, warhammer isn't the game for you, stick to warcraft. If you want great pvp, filled with team work and challenge, then give warhammer a try because i think you'll love it.

Hold on you had a typo:

So let me just get something straight, if you want deep PvE with full scripted events etc. stick to warcraft, warhammer isn't the game for you, stick to warcraft. If you want great pvp, filled with team work and challenge, then give [Guild Wars]* a try because i think you'll love it.
