Hey Destructoid, it's been a while since I posted anything about the goings on with Dtoid NE. Part of this is because I'm lazy and the other part is...ok maybe it's all because I'm lazy. I did ,however, have the idea of making a Dtoid NE recap for the year to make up for the posts I hadn't done! ^.^ It's been such an amazing time hanging out with these guys and it's pretty cool to know this was all formed with Destructoid as the impetus and its members set it in motion.
When I initially met up with Dtoid NY at New York Comic Con in February, I was just heading down there to hang out for a bit and see what the Con was all about. One fateful fantastically delicious karaoke night, I was talking to Powerglove and he suggested I help create a group for Boston. It was something I always wondered about and thought I just needed someone to tell me it's a good idea. I kind of forget why it was decided that the group was going to be called Dtoid New England. I think it was because I didn't know of many people living near Boston and so I wanted to include people around Massachusetts as well. So, here we are months later with a couple of meet ups under our belt and pics to prove it!
Funspot Meetup
Funspot is a classic arcade and museum in NH. This was our first time meeting each other and there couldn't have been a better place to begin our journey. Here's to it not feeling awkward and actually being a pretty awesome meetup!

Rawnewdlz just moved into a new apartment and set up a night for us to meet up and game all night! it was definitely the tits! We even had a special DtoidNY guest come visit by the name of Casualweaponry!

Heyricochet, wanting to christen his abode, invited us to help break in his newly purchased home, have a night of retro gaming and drinking! Seriously, this guys collection of games from yesteryear is a sight to behold. This also attracted some other Dtoid NY'ers by the name of Tino and BFeld. It was so awesome of them to hang out!
Heyricochet's girlfriend baked us some delicious mushroom cookies.
We decided that You're in the Movies is the best party game(?) ever!
All in all, it was a good first year for Dtoid NE and I'm sure next year will be even more ridiculous! So, come join us in our Dtoid NE Google Group if you haven't already and let's STFUAJPG! Also, cocks.

Today is the GameUnicon and I just wanted to remind people to join the Google Group if they haven't already.It really is the best way to keep in the know with what's going on this weekend. A few of us will be arriving a little later and going to the concert later starring The Megas, Konami Code and Freezepop. So, do yourself a flavor and get yourself in the google group and meet up with us!
I just wanted to remind Dtoiders that GameUnicon is this month from August 21-23. I'm definitely attending and I will be entering my first tournament for SSF2HD and SFIV. You can tell it's serious business when you have to pay a tourney fee! So, if you have any interest at all in this event and meeting up with any of us, say so in the Forum or join our Google Group and let's set something up!

2 weeks ago the Funspot meet up in NH happened and I have to say It was awesome! Tha_Meat, ZeroTolo, Rawnewdlz, Sonicboom w/friend Craig, HeyRicochet w/gf Amy and myself were in attendance. It was cool how as soon as we got together, you could swear that we've known each other for the longest time. I'm glad we all came together for a good night guys!
A quest for Arby's, the great ticket obsession with the last of our monies and a 6 player X-Men arcade (who wants to be Dazzler?...anybody?) were among some of the cool things that happened that night. Here is to hoping that more people are able to come out next time with us!

I just want to give people a little reminder that this Saturday is our Funspot meetup. Like I said in the last post this will be the first time Dtoid New England meets up and it would be nice to see everyone there. We plan on being there at 5pm and I believe HeyRicochet is going to be there a few hours earlier than that so if you want, don't hesitate to go! All I know is, I got dibs on Space Ace!

Hey there friends, I would like to invite you all to come out with us next weekend on the 27th of June in Laconia, NH to a wonderful place called Funspot: American Classic Arcade Museum and "Home of the Largest Arcade in the World!" If you haven't joined the New England Google Group yet, please do and give some feedback. If you can't drive, see if anyone lives nearby and carpool.
Corny titles aside, this will be our first get together since the inception of this group so be sure to show some local support! It should be a great time considering there is no way one can get bored at a place like this. It has Ten Pin and Candle Pin bowling. For our eating and drinking needs there is a restaurant and tavern. It certainly has one of the biggest classic gaming rosters I've ever seen including Space Ace, Defender and Galaga! With a decent semi typical list of arcades like Super Street Fighter 2, Time Crisis, Daytona USA etc...So, you know what to do people. Come join us!
