This will be me tonight, while I'm in first place. Disagree? Let's settle this on the track.

Mariokart 8 is pretty good.

Nintendo Friday Night Fights: Post-E3 Momentum

Welcome to Nintendo Friday Night Fights!

Pictured: Not necessarily Mariokart

Guess how I was occupying myself this week? :D  That's right: E3 happened. It was an exceptional one all around, but obviously I was quite interested in what Nintendo was going to do. They delivered, at least for me. New IPs, beautiful new versions of existing ones, Platinum and Itagaki, fucking figurines, the works. Not to mention the outstanding Treehouse, who were streaming tons of gameplay for three days. Tezuka showing off some Yoshi prototypes was especially awesome.

Tons of announcements, but surprisingly, no news for Mariokart 8 DLC! Guess I'll have to keep waiting for Dry Bones.

In the meantime...

Nintendo Friday Night Fights: Mariokart 8!!

Welcome to Nintendo Friday Night Fights!

Welcome one and all to this most joyous of Friday Night Fights! Today, Mariokart 8 came out! And, of course, we'll be playing all night to celebrate. This will surely be a Wii U staple for some time to come, and you'll surely have other Dtoiders to play with.

I'm not sure exactly how we'll do this, but adding me as a friend is probably easiest. I'll update this post after I get the game. I don't know if it has communities a la Mariokart 7 or what.

Not only am I hosting tonight, but I'll be playing AND holding a tournament this weekend. Are you ready?

Nintendo Friday Night Fights: WiiDSByeBye

Welcome to Nintendo Friday Night Fights!

I'm hosting Mariokart 7 tonight because it's time to practice for Mariokart 8! Come get wrecked by my kartin' skillz.

Meanwhile, as was announced recently, Nintendo is shutting down online services for all Wii and DS games that used it. You'll still be able to use the shops, and entertainment services (like Hulu, Netflix, etc.,) but no more online multiplayer. As of now, it looks like this takes effect on May 20 of this year.

This will be the last week/weekend if you want to play something. Mariokart Wii will be offline for good. Farewell, you spotty friend.

Nintendo Friday Night Fights: Mariokart May

Welcome to Nintendo Friday Night Fights!

It's almost time! Earlier this week, Nintendo hosted another Nintendo Direct, this time completely focused on Mariokart 8. It's looking preeeeeeety good. The only thing I take issue with is the character selection this time around. I have Koopalings to keep me busy, but the rest of the new ones are kinda meh. (Rosalina's cool) The game looks so fun that any character will suffice, though. And how about that ability to destroy blue shells! FINALLY.

Over here, the OST was uploaded by some Youtubers for maximum hype-building. This is obviously going to be Nintendo FNFs new #1, so get kartin' ASAP. I think some MK7 practice sounds good. Any hosts for that?

Meanwhile, as was announced recently, Nintendo is shutting down online services for all Wii and DS games that used it. You'll still be able to use the shops, and entertainment services (like Hulu, Netflix, etc.,) but no more online multiplayer. As of now, it looks like this takes effect on May 20 of this year.

If I were to host something on Wii/DS, what should it be? I'm thinking Battalion Wars 2 for the last couple weeks. Thoughts?

Nintendo Friday Night Fights: 3DS Bump

Welcome to Nintendo Friday Night Fights!

You'll still be able to use the shops, and entertainment services (like Hulu, Netflix, etc.,) but no more online multiplayer. As of now, it looks like this takes effect on May 20 of this year.

Sad times. Because of this, I'd like to encourage you guys to host DS or Wii titles until it all goes away. There are a some good game still online for both systems! Some Wii examples include: Battalion Wars 2, The Conduits, the still fun Goldeneye 007, The Last Story, Mariokart Wii, Smash Bros. Brawl, Tatsunoko VS Capcom, Dr. Mario Online Rx, and Excitebike: World Rally.
For the DS, there's always Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, Diddy Kong Racing, Mariokart DS, Metroid Prime Hunters, the Pokemon games, Tetris DS, Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff, Picross, Worms: Open Warfare 2, Custom Robo Arena, and so forth.

I think a send-off is in order. Fight?

PhilKenSebben is our lovely host this evening. Come play with us!
