All this cause there isn't trophies for every game? The sheer fact that you would've bought it for 360 just for achievements makes me facepalm. What the heck...if you study for a test or go to work and actually do your work, do you need a pat on the back?
I can understand you want a mark to show you have been there but comparing Trophies/Achievements to Super Bowl Rings? That is a bit far. And your hard work quite frequently down to "beat such level on ANY difficulty."
And if you are complaining about achievements this whole time, why would you buy Fallout 3 on PC where there is no achievements for it. I don't understand this logic.
This is why I hate trophies and achievements...ugh. At least Sony might be giving you prizes for Trophies but that will just make this issue even worse. Why not try playing a game for the fun of it and if you REALLY need to prove you did a good job, take a picture of the end screen.

Sorry, that came off...mean? evil? trollish?
I just can't STAND all this obsession over Trophies/Achievements. As the good man, Aerox said...they are used to drive the sales of bad games. I paraphrased but you get the idea.
I think the only decision between multiple consoles should be if it plays smoothly, type of controller, and reliability. For me most of that is with the PS3, no RRoD ftw!

You're pretty dumb, actually. You hate trophies/achievements ONLY BECAUSE IT'S INTERNET COOL TO HATE POPULAR THINGS.
Listen, little guy, if game X comes out for PS3 and 360, and one has something as small of an advantage as say a trophy or an achievement, then why would you get the game that has less of a feature. And yes, achievements/trophies ARE features in a game.
As for Fallout 3, I hold modifications over any achievement any day. Call of Duty 4 is a lot better on PC simply because a) Xbox users aren't on it and b) maps are free. More for less ($50 per game on PC) is always better!

And by dumb I meant not really dumb but ugh I hate the anti-popular comments. Anything neat to someone people automatically think everyone is a tool.
I personally like them but I don't buy games BECAUSE of them. I agree with ya there.

I totally get what you're saying.
For those who TL:DR'ed the point is this. Developers are promising trophy support only to say at the last minute that its not going to be there, ot just dropping any patch quietly hoping no-one notices. Its a worrying trend as has been mentioned on Podcastle that developers are promising features only to say when the full game comes out that they'll patch it in.
Also, Wipeout HD trophies. Those damn things have gotten me round the neck obsessing over them.

I'm not afraid to say that I enjoy achievements. I'm always able to squeeze some more play time out of a game because of them, when I probably would have put the game down and never touched it again.

A-fucking-men Dryvby. That's why I always buy the PC version if I can

I definitely take the acheivements/trophies into consideration when I'm deciding which version to buy. I wish there were more games with trophies included because right now I like playing the PS3 more. I like the controller and interface better, plus, it doesn't make a ton of noise. It's a personal preference, I don't know why anyone would care if someone likes them or not.
It's kinda sad when I'm more surprised to see trophies in a game when than when its not. Dead Space and Rock Band 2 have em.
What bothers me is when local multiplayer gamaes fuck up trophy support, Rock Band 2 for instance. You can only log into one account to play Rock Band 2, and I don't play Rock Band on my account so I'll never have trophies for it. On 360 every controller can sign into a different live account (I think).
Little Big Planet got this right, whenever another player joins, he can join as either a guest, or one of the other accounts on your Playstation 3. I don't know why this is the only game to ever think of this.

I really think once Sony announced the trophy system that they should have made it mandatory for developers to adapt it much like what Microsoft has done. They also need an internet component to them much like MyGamerCard.net. Yes, Playfire's gamercard is fine and all, but the fact that you have to go in and manually add all the trophies you earn is just a pain in the ass.
@Kinji
Oh man, that's a whole new issue! I hate that stupid multiplayer support for couch co-op gaming! My brother was turned off by that fact. That's where I give MS 101% props.

i love them trophies, just got 50% of the pain trophies and looking to get all but one (have all in-game trophies is teh blow). wipeout is another thats taunting me. i agree about the lazy lying devs saying support is coming but then nothing ever comes. i hate liars, and this industry is full of em. i'm still waiting for bionic commando after capcom said if demand is high they'll implement them and the fucking demand was never higher yet here we are. fuck capcom and that crap version of megaman they pooped out.(it's a fucking memory game, you don't remember where or when you have to jump or attack, you die)
