I bought Halo 3 the day it came out, like millions of others, and not really that excited about it. I just wanted to play the multiplayer for a bit, check out a few of the new weapons, and finish the story. Well, the first night I got it, I beat it on Legendary. It took around 8 hours to beat, which I was pretty ticked off about. The story wasn't that good, nor that bad. It was just okay enough to be considered part of the Halo saga. Well, this is less than a week since we've all had the game, and I just have to be frank: I'm bored. They didn't do anything new in the game aside form add a few new weapons and items. The single player, after beating it on Legendary, is pointless and boring to go through again, especially since Cortana likes to slow down the pace of the game every minute towards the end. Oh, then there's the classic Flood battles. Boy, did anyone even fight them? You can run right past them because the AI in Halo really just sucks.
Ok, so there's always multiplayer, right? Well, yeah, if you just want to play beefed up Halo 2 multiplayer that we've all played before (only this time, add some really boring maps and not even enough of them). Halo 3 is what I figured it was going to be: over-hyped crap. I've slowly seen people going back to Gears of War on my friends list. Looks like other people are figuring this out too. I can't wait for the multiplayer map pack, though. Only $10 (plus tax) will get you 3 exclusive classic maps we've all played before! Ya know what the Xbox community says: The developers have to make their money too.
I really hope this was the last we'll hear about Halo and anything to do with Master Chief. This is the last time I ever buy a Microsoft hyped game. Stupid marketing...

Yeah, I have been. I've been playing the SAME multiplayer since Halo 1. They haven't changed much since the first one, but apparently, console gamers are too stupid to pick out the new from the same.
Again, if you read the full blog, you'd see what I'm saying about the multiplayer.
Boring maps.
Shotty Snipers is really f-in lame and shouldn't be in ranked games.
Not enough maps.
DToid doesn't need anymore fucking speds who don't back up there opinions.
Yes, I played through every Halo, including WAY too much time on multiplayer than most doctors would recommend. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
I'm not a huge online multi-player fan, so there goes pretty much the only real attraction of the game. The single player or rather campaign in all Halo's were actually pretty awful in my opinion.
Are you fucking stupid? he did support his opinion you fucking idiot!
If it ain't broken, and ain't being improved, why buy the same game again?
Point is, you need to throw in new ideas. That's why Gears was so popular. That's why Battlefield's series has taken off. They're the same game, just new ideas.
please tell me you aren't serious.
I completly agree. Gears sucks fucking ass.
It's just bull shit and anyone who says they did that is a fucking liar. Period.
I wasn't saying that he was telling the truth, I was just saying that I heard similar claims.
So you're a public dumbass? Okay. Way to be a lemming and then bitch like the rest when your brain kicks in.
And agreed that you can't beat Legendary by yourself in under 15 hours.
The story is also pretty damn cool for an FPS. I've played through it on my own once, am doing so again on realistic, and played through on realistic co-op. Each time it's great (although co-op story mode got raped by taking out most of the NPCs and actual STORY elements... sigh... but at least it's good fun to play with a friend). The other modes and DLC also have given the title legs.
I agree that Gears was not all it was cracked up to be. The story was cool in a summer blockbuster action movie sorta way, but nothing to write home to mom about. The online was good but there are still so many glitches that the game is barely playable for me. It's just not worth my time.
As far as Halo 3 goes, I didn't buy it and likely will never play it (unless it eventually comes from GameFly). I am a fan of class-based multiplayer games and am holding out for TF2 in the Orange Box and CoD4. Those two games will serve my online shooting needs more than sufficiently. Halo has just never been my cup of tea. I was good when I played, but it was always too generic for my tastes. There was never anything about the actual gameplay that made it stand out. Sure the online is commendable but you can't give a game all its props for providing a smooth experience to get you into a game and then have a dull generic time once you're there.
Had they innovated a little and given the Chief a cover system, destructible environments, and maybe more than a handful of guns then I'd prolly pick it up. As it stands, minor armor customization and game play mechanics as old as Goldeneye really don't do it for me. Apparently the masses don't care, though. To each his own.
Dude, yes I did. It wasn't that hard at all, and it doesn't take much since most of the game you can just drive past the enemies. So, why don't you get some skill and play. It's just like someone saying you can't get 5 star on Jordan on Guitar Hero. No, certain not. Especially if you're wasting time arguing on the internet. Like you.
@WaterMedia
Actually, I didn't pay for it with any REAL money. I bought it with store credit I had saved up. Just because I wasn't that excited about it, doesn't mean I didn't check reviews (which said the game was soooo much). And you might not be able to beat Legendary under 15 hours by yourself, but whatever. That just proves I could take your assault rifle and rape you with it in multiplayer because you are in fact, teh suck.
TEH....
SUCK....
So Halo blows it out of the water. My choices are Slayer, Team Slayer, Objective, and some other mode. Basically, most of the game modes are the same thing over and over, but here's the kicker. If you started playing Halo back in '01 and you played and played and played until you got to Halo 3, you wouldn't be able to tell ANY difference aside from a few new guns, a few new maps, and the graphics.
If not, I'm trading this dumb thing in for skate. Let's see what happens.
