This is BS. I spent many an hour making songs on Mario Paint, and this my friend is no Mario Paint composition. Accidentals? More than 24 measures in 4/4? More than three notes at once? I think not.
You had the crappy version. My SNES had an ethernet port which allowed me to grab the Mario Paint DLC update. As you can see in the video, it added a "Download/Upload" function for songs as well as beefing up the general music creation tool set.
