So I guess I jumped the gun by writing my first article about
Jim Sterling's voice. Ah well.
So my name is Drew, I'm from Lambertville, New Jersey. I go to college in Maryland (transferring out of a community college to go to UMBC). I enjoy candle lit dinners followed by long walks on the beach. Gotta say that video games and music are my two favorite hobbies in the world.
But let's see... the first game I ever played on a home console was Snowboard Kids (I still have the original cartridge) for my 64. I later got Ocarina of TIme, and loved the shit out of it without ever beating the game or really getting too far past the Deku Tree. I have yet to beat a single Zelda game to this day.
Anyway, now a days I play mostly action/adventure games and some shooters. I pumped 140+ hours into my first Oblivion character, I played a lot of Halo 3, and I love Brawl even though I don't own a Wii (which I need to).
I "stumbled" a Destructoid article about some Top 10 thing and thought it had great taste and a good sense of humor, so I started coming back. Now I'm on here multiple times a day checking the front page stories and reading the occasional blog or two. Oh and I'm absolutely addicted to Podtoid. And Anthony Burch is my hero.
I'm going to school to be a game designer. I've been working on this idea for a game for over a year now (which recently just split into two separate games) and it's turning out to be awesome. In concept at least.
But I'm only going to be a game designer if I can't make it as a rock star. My band ("The Worst is Yet to Come") is actually on the rise and we'll be recording another 3 song demo soon (with some better production) and have shows lined up for the summer.
Shameless plug!
Soooooo yeah. I've never been very active on community forums. I've joined a couple places but didn't care enough about the site to try and immerse myself in the community. But here, I'm sure I'll find people to have interesting and/or awesome intrawet conversation with. And such.
Your band has pretty descent vocals.
Not having an avatar is symbolic here, you should probably fix that. Your band is cool :)
