Whatever Happened to Alan Wake?
Dreadnought | 12:55 PM on 07.18.2008 17 comments

A couple of years ago, I was filled with glee when I viewed the trailer for the Windows/360 thriller. In an apparent homage to David Lynch's Twin Peaks, I believed this was a game that would give me a deep emotional disturbance, something I have not experienced since the original Silent Hill.

Unfortunately, disappointment soon became the general feeling for this game. It started with Remedy's release date of "When it's done." I first assumed the game would be given the highest quality in gaming experiences. However, this was stated back in 2006 with no real updates since.

With no listings at E3 2008 or Microsoft Spring Showcase 08, will Bright Falls ever see the light of day?

A main factor is an open environment where light plays a crucial role in the game.

Heavy Rain was shown behind closed doors at E3. journalists can't talk about what they saw though. N'gai Croal said it looked AMAZING.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
