Mythic Maps Get a Release Date? Basically.
DreRox | 8:19 PM on 03.22.2009 9 comments

[[Am I late to the party? I mean, the Bungie Weekly Update came out two days ago. I searched to see if someone had made an article about it at one point yesterday and, well, nothing. I couldn't find the five minutes it takes to upload a blog about it than so without searching to see if someone's done it already I'm making one now.]]

Anyways. At the end of Bungie's latest Weekly Update it appears they have slipped in a tasty tidbit for anyone who didn't want to shell out 80 bucks for the Halo Wars: Limited Edition set just to get an early snag of Halo 3's Mythic Map Pack:

"You make sure you stay safe and Stay Tuned.

P.S. 04/09/09"

Classy. Clever. Other "C" words I can't channel at the moment. Cross your fingers just in-case but it's practically a giveaway, boys. I mean what else could it be? Let me know what you think.

P.S. 80/08/50

P.S.S See what I did there?

I got sick of Bungie's cockteasing, I'm done with them. Only maps I care about are the ones coming out in 2 weeks for Gears 2...

@zom

Will that make the previous map pack free(I think its called the Combustable map pack)?

At leats Bungie releases map pack that add to the multiplayer, unlike gears which is just more of the same. IMO

And Halo isn't?

Don't get me wrong, I like Halo but its all just more of the same, the overplayed BR doesn't help Halo either, at least you see other guns in Gears.

Blame MLG for the BR. Personally I prefer the Carbine.

As far as the dates go, knowing Bungie they won't be releasing the maps on the 9th, they'll announce the release dates for the maps on the 9th.

@Kyosuke

you're right about that, but what I meant to say is that every time Bungie releases a map pack it adds much needed maps for the many variants it has. like foundry added some more time to forge. Legendary added lighting affects just to name one. And Mythic will added more maps for free for all. Cant have enough of those in my opinion

So far the new maps from Epic are just the same size, symetrical maps. The biggest selling point in the new one is getting the map Fuel Depot from the first Gears. (at least for me thats their biggest selling point).

And Bungie is more up front with its fanbase. just saying

I too am super sick of Bungie's relentless cockteasing. When they move on and try this style on a game not named Halo its going to blow up in their face, cuz nobody is probably going to give a shit.

Anyways, I'm excited for a couple of these maps. Though Bungie STILL hasnt brought back a good deal of classics.

Also, @ Toneman:
Correct. Bungie gets all pussified when the MLG minority starts bitching on their forums

just to update today in a press release for Gears 2's new maps microsoft confirmed the april 9th date for the mythic pack
stevephoenix's Destructoid Blog
the 4th of september? Oh I see, your silly american ways of writing dates confuddled me.

So it's 9th of April.

So this is the date i should stop playing on halo then, as all of the dickheads will now come on and play mythic map game types, i mean there are some already but nothing comared to this oncoming flood.

I may skip these and wait till they are free. I've finally moved on from playing Halo3 every other week. I haven't played it sober and seriously in a while.
