OK... so there will be many assumptions here but Id like to think that they are justified.
So EA... when someone takes the time, in the PC gaming world, to go and download a large 1.7 gig demo of a game that is so far exclusive to the PC, it might be safe to assume that said person probably already knows what the demo is about and theres a good chance that said person has already seen 1 if not many commercials on this demo.
I have been waiting for Crysis for many moons and been eager to get the SP demo for just a taste. And friday I got that taste.
...
Of course there is always something...
So now i have this great demo installed (pretty quickly at that) and I sit down to play the game.
First up, animated BINK movie, company logos.
EA
CRYTEK
NVIDIA
INTEL
PIZZA HUT
You can't skip them... as annoying as they are, I can forgive that quick product placement.
But then... the real crap kicks in.
"Lets play the extended 3 minute movie trailer we released several months back before you get to the main menu. But to make sure that they totally absorb the full awesomeness of how great this game is we need to make sure they can't skip it at all."
Now, we've all seen this before in games where they have a short advert at the END of the demo to give you a taste of whats to come so you get more incentive to buy it, but come on... is this necessary? This trailer is months old, no in game footage, and you CANT SKIP THE FUCKING THING????
Weak... very weak...I got the demo because Ive ALREADY seen the trailers and read the articles and wanted to try this game (and will probably buy very soon). For the love of God, LET ME SKIP THE DAMN TRAILERS!!!!!
On a side note... this demo was awesome to play so far. Graphics are freaking amazing. The atmosphere is wonderful. Cant wait to buy it and bitch some more about unnecessary things.
