I love the Star Ocean series for their details and their combat system. Even all of the extra character tweaks are fun and rewarding. The thing that gets me is that I typically can't stand most of the main characters, this one being the biggest offender so far. From the trailers, I don't like ANY of the main characters.
This won't deter me from getting the game and trying it out before the fangs come out, but I'm taking this one with a rock of salt.
Most of those characters are ugly/stupid as shit, but I am a fan of Star Ocean, so I'm certain I'll get this one. So yeah, pretty much what Laxluster said. But damn... ugly characters.
I cannot play new Star Ocean games anymore. SO3 just pissed me off way to much.

I'm still looking forward to this game even though the other Square-Enix games released recently have been disappointing or just down right terrible.

Its a shame the plot twist in SO3 was SO INCREDIBLY SHITTY that it ruined the franchise for me.
