I went through one, and that was enough for me. I refused to go through 3 or 4 systems or some cases, 7.
Absolutely inexcusable for Microsoft to have let such a problem be so widespread. Granted, they did do their part by extending warranties, but I still think it's utterly ridiculous they pushed their system out so quickly as to not test it's quality first.

I went through 2, only because they replaced the first one free of charge but after the second one I became more than happy with only my PS3 and Wii.
Three have died on me, but I got my revenge. Sometime after they sent the fourth, I voluntarily purchased a parallel Xbox. Hah.
My roommate has had to get his replaced once so far but is lending it to our friends that recently had theirs redring out of warranty. We've just been using our respective PS3's and my Wii since then and everything's been dandy.
I'm on my second 360. My first died on xmas day 09. Thanks for ruining xmas microsoft. You're the effing grinch!
Just one. My sympathies. Also, someone should make a pamphlet about getting your first red ring in a style so people can sort out the anger and confusion that comes with it.
