Here he is. He's the little Tin robot that I think of when I see Mr. Destructoid. He was a little hard to find but I finally found a replica of the older ones that were made in the 50's? 60's? I'm not quite sure what era these toys are from.

But anyways, Happy New Year Dtoid.

Yes, Zombutler, it does say "Smoking Spaceman" he puffs out a little smoke when he stops walking and lights up his head and eyes. And this again is a replica of an old toy that was made before most of us were born. I do enjoy his company.

Wow he's even the right color! That's where we got the inspiration for our logo, the 50's japanese toy "the smoking robot". It was a big thing way back in the day. We licensed a photo from Getty Images and changed it from Blue to Green and removed the crest and other little things to create Dtoid.

You should be able to find him on the net.. With some internet sleuthing, he can be yours. At a price.

I remember one of my elders having a similar toy, and when I found the site, I thought.. "Gotta find them their robo." so there he is in all his tin glory.

@Hydrotonix: I'm not old enough to remember him when he was new, but I have again seen reminisce of him when I was a child... The one I saw I believe was wind up, and threw sparks out of his mouth (I may be remembering something else with the sparks)

Thought you guys would enjoy. I'm glad you did. =)

For a replica the box looks particularly cool.
