I did a bad thing and bought a PS3 yesterday..... but its not here yet (hooray for cheap ground shipping!)
Get Warhawk.
Warhawk.
You should get warhawk and join us for WNW.
PSN:Shipero
I have UT3, COD4, and Warhawk. I'm usually up to play any of them.
warhawk, Ninja Gaiden Sigma
You should get Pain, I hear that game is awesome.
Get Pain. Don't even think about the decision, just do it. Trust me.
Warhawk and Uncharted are the best offers so far on the system. Heavenly Sword is a pretty, sweet, short adventure as well. Welcome to the "digital age", lol.
Well, I've already got a Wii and 360, so this was the last of the new consoles to get. It was inevitable anyway, seeing as how I NEED to play MGS4.
PSN download advice
Calling all Cars - Pass, it was hyped because David Jaffe made it.
Super Stardust HD - Buy, very funny, probably one of the top 2 games on PSN.
Flow - Pass, not really a game, more of a tech demo. Just play the free flash version on the internet if you are curious.
Pain - Pass, overpriced for what you actually get.
Everyday shooter - Buy, fun musical shooter.
Gran Turismo HD concept - Buy, it's free so why not?
Welcome to the PS3 club, my friend! [i}Warhawk [/i]is fantastic. Definitely check out Everyday Shooter (on the PlayStation Store) as well. And if you don’t have them on 360, Call of Duty 4, Rock Band, and Guitar Hero III run equally well on the PS3 as they do on the 360.
As for Blu-ray movies, here’s a link to a thread at the AVS Forum with a tiered list of Blu-ray movies in order of picture quality, in case you’re looking for some demo material. Anything from the top two tiers (“Blu” and “Gold”) are going to look absolutely unbelievable on any HDTV.
Grr...I fail at BBCode. Warhawk rocks; be sure to join us for Wednesday Night WarCawks (WNW) tomorrow night around 7 PM EST.
I actually like Calling All Cars. Yeah, they need more levels, but it's pretty fun.
I say get Heavenly Sword for one. The game is awesome, and I took my sweet time to enjoy the game even more without all the "It's too short" complaints going around (though my life's real busy, so I had no real choice). Try to find it under retail though, cuz even taking your time $60 is kinda steep.
Also look into Folklore. If you want an RPG fix for the PS3, Folklore is a beautiful and compelling game. May not be Final Fantasy epic and long, but there were enough twists and whatnot to keep you going. Enough "collect them all" aspects without being Pokemon, and there are a few packs out for it to download already.
Of course, the obvious choices are Uncharted, R&C: ToD, and Warhawk. I haven't touched UT3 or CoD4... not much of a FPS player.
That actually would be extremely useful...but sadly there is no link included for the videos. :(
@DrWiley and King
Congrats. Get UT3...with the GOW view, I absolutely love it. Ninja Gaiden is cool too.
I will reinforce the notion that you need to get Everyday Shooter. Uncharted also was unexpectedly amazing, but Everyday Shooter is infinite amounts of bang for a minuscule amount of bucks.
@ DR. Wiley & King
UT3, Warhawk, Uncharted & COD4 ( if you don't have for 360 ) are the Obvious.
@ king
PM / Invite via Dtoid/PS3 XMB me your PSN when you get to it!

If your into puzzle games, pick up Loco Roco Coccowhatever... I've had a lot of fun with it, figuring out how to do shit with the sixaxis and all.
If you are getting Rachet and Unharted from friends then you are getting the cream of the crop there for exclusive content(IMHO). Heavenly Sword is great but may be a rental for some. I really dug Folklore too and Ninja Gaiden Sigma is the complete package if you didn't get to play it last gen its got all the extras. If you like FPS's Resistance should be a no brainer and Warhawk is pretty good as well.
As for PSN I have bought too much but I would say Super Stardust is great as is Everyday Shooter. Calling all Cars was actually really fun though limited on levels(haven't played online in a while so not sure how many peeps are still playing it).
Haze(ready to see some reviews though) and Hot Shots Golf are on my radar for soon to be released games I'm looking forward to on the PS3.
