Hoy Link! It's Halloween!
DrNutt | 12:15 AM on 11.01.2007 6 comments

In the spirit of the devil's favorite holiday, I've decided to do as everyone else and post my Halloween costume here on good ol' D-toid. My girlfriend and I went to a party as Link and Zelda, so here are the pictures. Everything for our costumes was homemade, so we can be satisfied knowing that the blood, sweat, and tears of hardworking Indonesian children was not put to work making these look good.

Pre-empting those who will call me a n00bzor for having an inaccurate Link costume: my idea was to go back and do an old school Zelda 1 or Link to the Past-esque costume. Hence the lack of too much detail on the shield. And the sword was originally going to be the wooden sword. You know, the "it's dangerous to go alone, take this" sword. Then it got a little fancier. And the same goes for my girlfriend's costume. It may not be 100% game accurate, but she did all those fancy designs freehand, so cut her a little slack.

Without further self-gratification, here they are!

Yeah, the pictures are all pretty much the same. I got a little too drunk at the party to worry about taking any more pictures. Not pictured: Waldo, a minotaur, Rita Skeeter from Harry Potter, Medusa, and the bus driver from Billy Madison.

Marry that girl. She saw you in tights and didn't leave you.

@Snaileb: Those aren't tights. My legs aren't that fat. :-(

Awesome costumes, man!
Here's my custom made Riddler costume from a few years back. That costume was tight, literally! Spandex is no fun!

Sorry! The last picture was way too large.
Didn't wanna jack your shit up.
Anyway, here's a smaller one!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

 about me

Game consoles I currently own: NES, Playstation, PS2, Xbox, 360, Gamecube, Game Boy Advance SP, PSP, and PS3

Greetings D-toid. My name is Dan and I am a 25-year old gamer with the worst case of game ADD you've ever seen. I used to have a "currently playing" list up here, but I change that so often that it's a pain in the ass to mess with here. And frankly, who really cares?

I love all games, even the shitty ones, but my favorites come from the 8 and 16-bit eras. You know, the standard names that get bandied about on this site, like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3(6), and Secret of Mana. I also really loved Jurassic Park 2 for the SNES, and if you think I'm joking about that one, I strongly encourage you to NOT emulate it right now. It's like Contra with dinosaurs, and if that doesn't seem awesome to you, then we shouldn't be friends.

If you have a 360 or a PS3, feel free to add me to your list of friends, and I'll be up for playing just about anything.

This is me.

And this is a cat in a basket. Enjoy.
