So, yeah I'm a big Metal Gear fan I mean I bought all the games day one save for Snake Eater which I waited 2 months after release to get. Each of the numbered games always give me a rich gaming experience, alas I have yet to play the portable games due to the fact I don't own a PSP. I feel like I'm royally missing out not playing the Portable Ops.
That's besides the point. The point I'm getting at is that without the genius that is Kojima these games would suck incredible balls, and you know that's the truth. I mean all the Solid games is like an interactive episode of
The Cosby Show sans Theo, but with a ****load more violence. I mean it has an intense story with themes that make you think (although they can be a bit convoluted), you got humor, an impressive cast of characters with crazy names (Revolver Ocelot, need I say more), you got the atmosphere, and finally it has GIANT ROBOTS!!!
I know Hideo Kojima doesn't make these games all by himself in his parents' basement and I acknowledge there's probably 100+ individuals that work on these games. But hell, if it weren't for the dude and his striving for perfection, the series wouldn't be the grand event that it is today. I know that 90% of all PS3 owners will get MGS4, it's pretty much fact. You know it's the reason you bought the thing in the first place, well besides that other game that's a Fantasy that every says is Final but seems like it'll never end.
Do I sound like a Kojima fanboi? Yes, I probably do. Do I want another MGS after 4? In all honesty No, because if Snake kicks the bucket there'd be no reason for the series to go on. Unless Meryl has Geriatric Snake's baby. I would also like to see Kojima work on new IP's where he can truly give us real next gen experience. Sadly, I'll not be there when MGS 4 first comes out (It sucks being broke), hopefully though I'll have the same thrill I had with other 3 when I finally get that $400 black Obelisk with a copy of MGS4 in hand. So with all that said, I extend my thanks to Kojima-san. One of the best to ever do it.
