Earlier today, Frontier Aja released a demo for the anticipated Touhou fan game Scarlet Symphony and the Legend of Castle Magic Red. It's a Castlevania-inspired game based on characters from Touhou Project. You play as Reimu as you make your way through creepy castle corridors to God knows where. You're armed with a whip(of course) and you can summon Marisa to unleash an attack that can kill most things on the screen. Also, you can press the jump key twice to make Reimu float, which in turn you can shoot out red bullets, undoubtedly inspired by Touhou danmaku gameplay. This move can only be used if you have any red orbs on you, which can be obtained from defeating enemies and objects like chandeliers and candlesticks(the usual Castlevania fare).
The demo is pretty short, and only gives you a little experience with Scarlet Symphony. My biggest gripe with the game is that Reimu's hitbox is
ungodly in it's size. Objects will hit you when they have absolutely no business hitting you. The only reason why I think they would make the hitbox so big is to make the game more difficult, but even so, I beat the demo without any trouble. Being the big fan of Touhou Project that I am, I'm looking forward to it's final release at the upcoming Comiket 76, even though I hate the Castlevania series with a passion.

Sounds good :3 Is the music the same or is it all new stuff? Reminds me that I still need to beat TEotSD though. Got to Remilia but got utterly destroyed by her >.<
In fact, I have no idea. But since I love castlevania, I figure that this is worth a try.

Touhou is just a series of games. Think of it as an anime series.
It has a strand of bullet hell shmups and mediocre fighting games. It's mostly known due to it's quality shmups that have sick musical accompaniments and memorable loli characters.
