So as I’m sure many of you have noticed, the destructoid picture viewer blows complete junks. This is not an opinion or even an observation; this is a cold, hard, pixilated fact. Time after time I will click on a gallery only to be assaulted with the needlessly hideous behemoth. Now I’m not here just to fling metaphorical feces all over the destructoid galleries; usually the galleries are filled with nice images… albeit butchered by the overall experience. What I suggest is free, simple to implement and much, MUCH more pleasing to the eye.
Why can’t the picture viewer be replaced by a page that simply displays thumbnails that link to something like
lightbox 2? Lightbox is pleasing to the eye and most settings can be customized or themed around destructoid. It automatically sizes pictures to their natural size (unless you tell it not to) and is incredibly easy to implement. It’s free and works on all browsers as well.
My eyes would love to peruse the galleries once more without having to deal with the nasty aftertaste.

Just be patient, it'll get fixed eventually. And then something else will break...
No, I do not volunteer to fix it since I can't even tie my own shoelaces, but I long for the day when someone steps up to the challenge and completely redesigns dtoid so it's no longer a wank-fest for cross scripting and java the hutt. Jesus, seriously. But I love the site anyway.
What sites do you guys enjoy / suggest for inspiration?
Of course, that's only half the deal, since dtoid is mostly about the community interaction and blogs. And honestly, I can't think of a page right now that does this well. If I come across or remember one, I'll point to it, of course. But I realise it's quite a tough thing to put together if you don't have a lot of people to exclusively bother with it and not many sites to take as inspiration.
Anyway, it's great that you're open for suggestions.

I don't need any other site, the Toid kicks all there asses. :)
That being said, the image gallery sucks. You need a way to change pictures without reloading the page, period.
Also unbreak the mobile version for iPhones, it used to be perfect before the last update.
