Here I am again, bringing all of you unfortunates who are not in Seattle right now (which you should be) the update of my personal experience here. And actually, I'm writing this from a panel about the new age of game journalism. How meta am I? Last night, after my post, I checked out the first act of the concert, the One Ups, who are pretty SW33T, if I may say so myself. They don't just play video game themes, but they take them and expand upon them with a rock/funk feel. I'm considering buying one of their CDs, but they've got so damn many I don't know which one to choose. I wanted to stay for the whole concert, but as I was taking a break outside of the theater after the One Ups' set, I see a man walking with an entourage of fifteen or so people. This man had a large metal helmet on. "NIERO!" I shouted. The entire group turned. I walked a few steps forward, noticed the confused looks, and stopped. Pointing to myself, "It's Dexter345!" After hearing that, I was greeted by the entire crew, but only after a firm handshake and a hearty hug from the robot himself. I had gone the entire day without seeing anybody, and now I was with almost everybody from Destructoid. It was grand. Unfortunately, it was getting on in the evening, and after a brief period of following the group around, my friend and I broke off to grab something to eat. Which brings us to this morning. The first thing we went to was the Rooster Teeth panel, which had an exorbitantly huge line to get in. The line started in a back corner which led to a dark hallway which then led to an ENTIRE EXHIBITION HALL set up to handle the line. I thought I was getting there early, but I was easily the 1000th person in line. The Rooster Teeth panel was excellent, in contrast to Mega64's yesterday. They showed some nice videos from the latest Red vs. Blue DVD (which I bought and got signed by three of the RT guys), and they did a question and answer session that brought out some genuinely funny stories. I wanted it to go on longer, but they ended up running out of time before everybody's questions were answered. After the panel, I ran into CTZ and walked around with him for awhile. He met up with the rest of the Dtoid crew on the show floor while I was searching for swag, so we split up again. After that I went to the second round of the Omegathon (Calling All Cars), where I got a picture with Gabe from Penny Arcade. I talked to him for a bit, got into the Pokemanz, he challenged me to a battle. My fanboy senses started flaring up again. "ZOMG! I'm about to battle Gabe! He's Internet famous!" Again, I calmed myself down for a fun game of Pokemon (read: I got destroyed), after which I bade him farewell. So yesterday I got a picture with Tycho and today I got one with Gabe, but those will have to wait for a later post when I get those on my computer. Up above is a picture taken from my camera phone, from this panel that's about to end. Somebody on the panel just mentioned Destructoid. I woo'd. I'm not sure I was supposed to. I don't have anything left to say. Bye.
