So I should buy games...based on how they look? This changes everything I know about video games.
The game is also extremely fun, but that's not what this post is about. In fact, you've completely missed the point of it. I really just wanted to share some screens I took, but I also want more people to buy the game because it's so damn awesome. I'm not saying you should alter the criteria by which you judge videogames or anything.
I was being sarcastic.
After seeing the reviews and your notation of the collector's edition containing a chunk of the wall, I do want.
Too bad my computer is shit.
Sorry about that Rofl. It's actually 5:30AM here and I am not quite at my best. The thought did occur to me though, but it must have been replaced with thoughts of sleep.
Yeah, I guess you live on the east coast as well.
I have CoH and I was thinking about getting this one but Opposing Fronts will be out soon so i think i'll just stick with one rts.
I have CoH too and I played the Opposing Fronts beta. It's a great game and all, but I think WiC offers more from a multiplayer perspective. Massgate is definitely superior in nearly every way to Relic Online. Add in the VOIP support and the fact you can join a game and get going instantly and the game is just more fun for me. So if you want to try something different and if you're into online play, I'd suggest trying WiC, or at least playing the demo.
How long do Mp games usually last? I was also kinda put off by no resource gathering but from what I'm told you don't need it at all.
They generally have a 20 minute time limit, but can be much shorter than that depending on how the game turns out and which game type it is.
And you really don't need any resource gathering. Instead, you're given a set amount of logistical points and given a choice between 4 roles (support, air, infantry and armor). You use your points to call in whatever units you think are necessary and off you go. The whole process lasts about 20-30 seconds tops and then you're in battle, and the fun starts.
Now would I get more points in the pool if I'm doing good? Like do you get more points if your beating the team or does it just build up overtime?
No, you don't get logistical points for doing better. Instead, you get Tactical Aid points, which are a hell of a lot more fun. You use them to call in air strikes, artillery barrages, paratroopers and even a tactical nuke. There are many options and each one is useful in different situations.
As far as your reinforcement points (or logistical or whatever, they don't really have a name) they are set in stone and refill over time. When you lose a unit you get a quick burst of points and then whatever is leftover slowly trickles back. The more points you have available or used the slower they refill.
I might take this a bit more seriously if you didn't have the World in Conflict profile pic.
I just don't have a good avatar, that's all. I keep looking for one and I change it every little while. Since I'm playing WiC, I'm using a WiC avatar. Pretty simple, really. It will be different next week.
