No news on Postal 3
Dead riffs | 9:10 PM on 11.25.2007 9 comments

Makes me a sad panda.

Originally slated for release this past August, I believe, Postal 3 has since delayed and faded from the radar. Me, being a fan of the first two games, though they were utter shit, is a little disappointed.

Yeah, they sucked. But, they were still fun. So bad its good often works out for a game. Hopefully the third installment in this series of carnage and political incorrectness will work out to be an average game.

*image is a little big for embedding, so I'll post the link. TTI works.

One of the only screenshots I've seen for the game looks rather old and, if I can be blunt, bad.

"Postal III is said to feature different "murderer lifestyles", including serial killer, eco-terrorist, and presidential candidate. It will also continue and expand upon Postal²'s open world design. It will include motion-captured performances by a wide array of celebrities, including film stars and Playboy Playmates.

In the new game, the Dude emigrates to Paradise's sister town of Catharsis. Unlike its predecessor the Postal III video game will not be based on the Unreal engine but rather on Valve's Source engine, which powered Half-Life 2."

This excerpt taken from Wikipedia's Postal 3 article had me quite excited at one point. But, now, with such blockbusters as Metal Gear and Brawl coming out in the next few months, I'm afraid I'll have to bury Postal 3 under my metaphorical bed and let it rest until it appears on that dusty old Blockbuster shelf.

You're almost there.

Though *yawn* for Postal 3. Sorry, that's just my opinion.

im blogging about how there is no news on Postal 3, and to discuss it with others who may be interested in the game and whom might be looking forward to it.

I dunno why Postal gets all sorts of hate. I mean, it's certainly not the *best* game every, but it's far from the worst. I never played the first one, but I quite enjoyed Postal 2 when I needed to vent some fustrations by blasting someone's face off with a shotgun, or knocking their head off with a shovel. And then, of course, peeing on them. The best part, to me, was being able to walk into EVERY HOUSE IN THE GAME. I mean, you can run around an entire city in Grand Theft Auto, but you can enter all of, what, 15 buildings? Puh-leeze.

Lewzr, I completely agree with you. While far from the best game of its time, Postal 2 is all about senseless, mindless, thoughtless violence and fun. The absurdity of it is really the point of it.

Who doesn't like throwing gasoline in the street, lighting the street on fire, unzipping your pants, and pissing on the people engulfed in flames and trying make them vomit?
