So... I just got home from the redwood bar in Seattle, the city in which I dwell, and I can say that D-TOID has one big happy family. People from all over gathered together- Arms in arms, hands in hands, and well- Hair to tongue for some. It was awesome meeting people, having drinks, shaking on well met Blogger's/Site viewers alike.
I kind of always wondered to myself about how gamer communities came together- Are we all faceless avatars in a sea of passionate gamers and journalists? well to answer that question in short... No. We are people. People that are joined together. We are separated at birth, only to be reunited by controllers and keyboards.
Stepping foot into unmarked territory- This event has convinced me of one thing-- I will be chained to this sites for as long as this controller/keyboard/mouse/hand held is glued to my fingers and thumbs... You have all made me a believer in a strong and positive community that I will continue to enjoy for years to come.
To all Destructoid's- Hats/helmets/crowns/caps/tuques/beanies/and all other wearable head gear- I tip - I raise- I take off to you all. I will look forward to later meetings- If anyone is a dweller in Seattle, please message me, we can go drink, talk about games, play games, whatever tomfoolery we can muster. Till then I will see you at PAX on Saturday!
"who needs god's speed? when you have gamers speed?"- Unknown *possible made up by me*
The most dead pixel on your monitor/TV- !yeah shake a stick at it!
