I wish I had info on SSX4 already.
I really need a Wii.
I like music. I like all types of music that don't include country, though Beck is starting to slightly tip that opinion otherwise. I like music that I can (badly) dance to, music that I can sing, music that is in my voice range.
And I really like video game music.
I mean, I really like video game music.
-I do that shit On Tour.
Now, don't hate me, but but SSX usually has some of the best licensed soundtracks out there. From the hit hoppityy "Tricky" (God Bless Run D.M.C. and Jay), to the Euro Trance "Go" (Andy Hunter will make you Gasm), SSX has been, in my honest opinion, the leader in having music to race/party/act-a-fool too. This is no different with SSX On Tour.
Oh Jesus did I enjoy On Tour, mostly because of it's sound track. Not only was having The Hives amazing, but also having Louis XIV was amazing. By the way, if anyone can find the full "God Killed The Queen" trailer that came packaged with Burnout Revenge, you will be loved.
- I keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'... Speaking of Burnout, I remember revenge introducing me to a whole number of bands I didn't know I liked until I was raging up the streets while listing to the KMFDM remix of "Straight To Video" by (at the time), a strange and frightening group called "Mindless Self Indulgence".
I know deeply respect Jimmy Urine, formally known as Little Jimmy Urine.
But that wasn't the best thing on the soundtrack. Oh no.
That's not either, although Andy Hunter takes a large cut of the pie. Damnit, where are the Maximo Park + Burnout videos when you need them?
I ain't 'fraid of no ghosts!
Did anyone else watch that Project Origin 19 minuet demo on IGN? It had some truly creepy back grounds in there, that helped fit to what was actually going on so damn well, I was freaked, and I wasn't even playing. If Project Origin can keep this type of musical score up through out the whole game, I might have to brave it with my Tickle Me Elmo in hand.
It's the end of the world as we know it...
To end it all off, I think I share a little bit of Advent Rising with you.
Now, while the game was noting to really be desired (far from totally horrible though), the musical score was something I truly loved on end, and I've been beating myself up for not setting out and looking for the full soundtrack. Just imagine, if the gameplay elements coughcoughaimingcoughcouhg had just been fixed, coupled with this amazing score, it could have been one of those must have Xbox games.
I can dream though.
There you have it, some of the video game music I like, and not even a hint of Rock Band, Guitar Hero, DDR, or Rez.
@Bwark- I have no idea. The game was fun for me when I finally managed to stop whining about the aiming, but it was still horrible, and I continue to whine about it to this day.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. @Scrixx: I only wish I could freestlye like that.
