Inafune says no megaman in Brawl

Much to my dismay, during the last bionic commando podcast, Inafune says the follwing regarding megaman in super smash bros. brawl.

"Well, I really do love Super Smash Brothers. It’s a great series…but, Nintendo hasn’t asked me yet if they can use Mega Man in their game. I’m still waiting…we have a little bit of time left, it’s not coming out for another few months. They might get around to asking us if we’d like to put Mega Man in Super Smash Brothers. Maybe if somebody from Nintendo is listening to this podcast, they’ll give me a call."

I'm going out on a limb here, but something about the wording of that statement puts me to doubt. He's probably lying because Mega Man is the last character to unlock or something.

Well yeah, the fact he's saying "no not right now, but it could happen still" means he might not be able to reveal it yet or something. So there's sitll hope anyways.

He's saying that he's not been contacted about Megaman being in Brawl, but if Nintendo were to contact him, he wouldn't hang up on them. What's so hard to understand/believe about this?
Of course Inafune would want him in Brawl, that's putting more money into Capcom's pocket.

It would also benefit Nintendo, seeing as how Megaman's probably the most demanded 3rd party character for Brawl (After Sonic who's already in, and any SquareEnix Final Fantasy character...but we'll never get that.)

Who knows...we'll just have to wait through 3 more weeks of crappy Dojo updates 'till we get a few answers.

Seriously, I don't understand why they haven't even considered Mega Man. Sakurai has said that there will be 1-2 non-Nintendo characters left after Snake, one of which is Sonic, meaning that there's a possible third. Before I had thought that Mega Man had a good chance of being that character, so who could it be now? Looking through the list of musicians, it looks like it has to be a Square Enix character... I looked around for traces of some Hudson soft games on that musician lists for any possibility of bomberman, but there are barely any traces of that company in that list.

I want Mega Man to be in Brawl badly. But I also see a case for my maybe Ryu or Chun Li, since they are also iconic characters.

I really want Mega Man though.

I agree with Eschatos.

Who cares? The guy shoots shit out of his arm. He does not fight with his fists, would look stupid. He should stick to 2D side scrolling shooter games. And a new Mega Man Legends. Would be sweet. Brawl is good how it is. Does not need.

I remember Nintendo saying third parties had to contact them first about characters in a game. So either Infune needs to call them first, or he did and is waiting for an answer.
