You're pretty much right. You can always go over to dell.com and just try to build a computer to see what parts they have and what each part does. I always like to go there just to play around. It's a good way to compare prices, too... at least with dell.
Well if you look at my last blog post, the rig I have listed there is a pretty good one. And it was like 620 or something. If you want to save some more money, get only one 2gb RAM stick. And you could scale back the CPU a bit.
And yeah I've ordered from both newegg and tigerdirect, and personally I like newegg better. See you can always find cheaper parts, but SOME times they are cheaper cause they are made...cheap. With computer parts the premiums are there because they really are a great product, (For the most part) so it is worth it.
Well, I can give little imput, just be sure to go nuts when it comes to your video card.
