So, i decided to write a few blogs about games that i played as a kid or younger that weren't neccissarly that great or well known, but the fact was that i was not the rich and i made do with what i was given. So first off in the series of blogs is B.O.B.
Bob:
Bob is a Genesis/SNES game published by Electronic Arts. It was release in 1993. I rented this game from a rental place that allowed two game rentals at the same time and you could opt to keep one longer than the other.Sadly i didn't keep BOB longer i kept, some game that involved a bee? and it was like sonic? or something.Anyway i will always love this game. It had platforming, and shooting. It actually was a bit like mega man. You had this robot guy named BOB who was going on a date but crashed his dad space car into an asteroid. Luckily that asteroid was teeming with creatures begging to be shot with a whole arsenal of weapons. So the game had a robust list of weapons, each with its own ammo set. He also had a punch to use when ammo is scarce. Another thing it had was a couple of different gadgets that worked like upgrades, there was a trampoline one and a helicopter and a tank one. It was pretty linear, slight retracing what with all the gadget upgrades but still not bad. The one thing that kinda takes away from it is the time limit. Once the time limit begins to get close to zero, or maybe runs out, you start losing health and die. But this was a game that i went back and rented and was still having fun.
Darkanubis that game was the shit. Basically to break it into more simple terms it was a side scrolling shoot-em-up with a massive arsenal of limited ammo weapons. It was great, anyone with a super nes should buy it if they can find it cheap. Also thank you Darkanubis I may be stealing your idea to write off a few blog posts.
Oh man, I remember renting that game and getting very far and then WHAM, stuck. That was before the internet and it sucked. I never did finish that game. It was pretty fun side scrolling puzzlerish action game. I bet I was pretty close to the end too. I should go back and try again now. Would be a good retro replay for me.
BOB was great! So happens I was a tester on it waaay back... But my bud Rob Z. was the lead on it and he and the team really gave it their all. It was kind of looked down on by the company (as was anything that wasn't EA Sports), it went through a lot of design iterations too. But they kept the faith, eventually they honed it into a pretty decent platformer. I do recall it ramps up to be ridiculously hard. Also the SNES and the Geneis versions are not exactly the same. Pretty sure I could still play some of the first few levels blindfolded, tho!

Alas, I never got into the Super Nintendo, but this sounds like a game I might have enjoyed when I was younger.
I rented the SNES version ages ago, but can barely remember anything about it...
