this was meant to be posted days ago, but ive been in the process of moving so therefore i had no i-webs to do anything of the sort.
----------------------
SO it appears my post about Furry Hatred received a little attention, and ive received exactly what i came for.
Let me clear one thing up, and definitely ONE thing up: No, im not interested in starting any furry revolution, nor am i using this blog as a front end for such activities. Quite frankly in the end, i cant bring myself to care what you personally think of furs, that's your business, and while this may sound hypocritical to what i just retorted, i did care about WHY the hatred was there as a general whole. To see so much unadulterated anger towards a subculture of people, in this astronomical size, is what i was interested in.
if that was to long or some words are confusing some, heres the short sum: you hate furs, cool, thats fine, but why on average?
Heres my findings
it appears its mostly to do with the fact alot of people think its all about sex or sex appeal. And if its not that people find it genuinely creepy that some people like to dress up as animals.
And again while im not here to sway opinions, let me just be a front man for a second here and say: no its not all about sex, and yes, its even known to the fursuiter that fursuiting is very weird, that is of course unless they're delirious and think its perfectly normal.
theres hundreds of other reasons to hate and shun us, but most just bank on these two very specific reasons. On the flipside of the same token though, remember: were not ALL like that.
Take me for instance, i grew up on cartoons, and all my heroes happened to be anthropomorphic critters, be it Bugs Bunny, Sonic the Hedgehog, Roger Rabbit, or my icon Wile E. Coyote.
Does this mean i want to draw/look at pr0n of them? No
Does this mean i wish to dress up as them? No.
Does this mean i fantasize about them? No. Not really, though imagining your in a WB cartoon skit is always fun i dont care who you are.
Why am i in this fandom: Its creative. Seriously, the fur community is filled with THE most creative collective of human beings ive ever seen, and its because they allow their mind to run wild, open and free. And it feels great to be apart of that creative common! The biggest group of illustrators, animators, IT ops, and mechanical engineering is top notch and a step above all other groups ive been apart of.
Maybe with the exception of Newgrounds, its just as much a gongshow as this :p
Please remember, im not here to sway your opinion, hate us all you want that's cool :) In the end all im trying to say is, let the hate be educated. I got too many comments and emails (not all directly from this place) genuinely asking what its all about and that they thought that all we did all day was dream about having sex with animals.
Which, is gross by the way, and completely untrue. :p
Im tyring to compress all my thoughts and words into a small entry, the last one was ginormous and i think only 1/10th of the people who commented read more than 3/4 of it, so i hope this is a bit easier to swallow.
So, here i am, thank you D'toid users for providing your thoughts and feelings on the subject matter, i feel more educated now about the subject and in closing, id like to point to a particular article that made me feel a little bit better about myself:

I dont think you realize how much i didn't realize how much the internet hates these guys too haha.
Actually this form of writing is very famil- ohh i see what happened there :p
Hate is everywhere, cheer is within us all, god bless the internet. :D
random images are random
Bravo, good sir. That made me laugh harder than I should have.
Mr Sadistic wins the fucking week.
Wow... where do I start with this one? I don't hate furries, but god damn if this isn't the most arrogant claim I've read all week. If anything, the subculture is based on nothing but repetition. It's nothing but a one trick pony. Anthropomorphic animals are not avant-garde pioneers.
"No one was a furry before they had internet access... it's a manufactured subculture. Furries don't come to the internet to find acceptance... losers come to the internet and become furries for acceptance."
/clap
Brah-fucking-vo.
as for you Hank, please, can you provide some examples against what i stated? Just be prepared to back them up ok? :)
and King, while that reigns pretty true in thsi very day and age, it didn't start on the internet, it started way before with mascots and television, it jsut didn't have a name behind it lol
If you're going to add me into that image, I'm a furry because I think anthropomorphic animals are freaking cute, and I'm all about the cute.
Seriously, you think a bunch of people got together over the phone, dressed up as the Michigan State mascot, and dry humped each other once a year in southern California back in the 70's?
However, I still love me some furries
... A Spartan?
Also, Sadistic, you win.
It's no reason to harass them, though. Everyone's got there fucked up, weird-ass fetishes. Mine is, ironically, sex in Cheetos.
whoa dude, haha, first i didn't start the thread to make firends so know that.
Secondly i used "us" NOT referring to YOU specifically but just another term so as not to overuse the term "furries". If i went in and did a ReplaceAll itd be the exact same message, also, i tried my very best to drill the point home that i did NOT talk for EVERYONE, its IMPOSSIBLE, so if you took it as such, thats you, im not a frontman, just a single in the crowd looking for some answers :p
you took offense, im sorry to hear that, but i dont take back anything ive said :p
also ps. i didn't want to use images in the first place, but if you check out the first post, i got bitched out for not having images, but i posted images with relevancy in mind, not context.
